Many personal life-events have gotten in the way since the initial launch of Spells 'n' Stuff, but I'm finally pleased to announce that I've been working on a remake, built from the ground up, for the past year, so we're close to getting Spells 'n' Stuff re-released!
It's not quite ready yet (still some polishing to do), but will come in a free update to the original game, to those who already own it. The purchase option will also return once the remake update is out.
Thank you so much to the people who supported the original version, I apologise for the long wait!
Here's what's new:
New Spell Casting
One spell fits all
I've reworked the way that the wand works, you now hold the trigger, point upwards, spin to charge it and release the trigger to fire. I think this feels quite satisfying, like you're putting actual energy into the spell.
You can also cast spells on various objects that sparkle when you're holding your wand.
One-hit kills
None of that weak magic nonsense, how can you call yourself magical if your spells don't do the job?
Spells 'n' Stuff is hard, having good accuracy is rewarded with one-hit kills.
Flying!
Just being able to teleport wasn't cutting it, now you can fly up and touch the moon!
Pointing your wand down and holding the trigger makes you fly upwards, away from where you're aiming.
It's not the only way of getting around, teleportation by throwing bouncy potions is still there, combining the two makes combat very interesting.
This feature has only recently been added, tweaks are gonna be needed to the physics and comfort of it, but from what's been tested, it works really well.
Even more stuff!
There's so much stuff I could cover, so here's a quick list:
Valve Index Knuckles support
Updated/new maps
Potion physics improved
Goodbye temporary voxel models
Networking now uses Steam P2P
HANDS
Ambidextrous controls
Offline bot matches
