Spaceborn Awakening changes
Now that the dust has settled from the demo release and Rogue Bots 2026 Fest, we want to take a moment to thank all the participants and organisers who made the event possible and share a glimpse of what’s next for Spaceborn Awakening!
The past few weeks have been hectic, but seeing players dive into the first chapter of Spaceborn has been incredibly rewarding. Watching people explore the game, experiment with different weapon combinations, and push through multiple runs is exactly the kind of engagement that keeps us motivated as we continue working toward the full release.
Overall, the demo has been very well received, and here are some of the key takeaways so far:
Most players enjoyed the story and spent time replaying the demo, experimenting with weapon builds and trying out Survival Mode.
Several players helped us identify bugs that slipped through the cracks; these are already being addressed and will be fixed in future patches.
Many players also shared valuable feedback about weapon balance and build variety.
One of the most common suggestions was to further refine weapon balance to encourage more diverse builds and make upgrade choices feel even more meaningful. We’ve been listening carefully and we agree.
Because of this feedback, we are currently working on a major overhaul of the weapon upgrade and power-up systems. Our goal is to open up the gameplay with far more build possibilities and give players greater agency in shaping their playstyle, ensuring that each upgrade path feels impactful and strategic.
We’ll be going in depth on these changes in an upcoming post, so stay tuned, there’s a lot we’re excited to share. Even better, the demo will be updated so you’ll be able to try these new systems yourself before the final release at Steam's Bullet Fest and Steam's Next fest.
Game development can be complicated (especially as a solo developer), and I cannot stress enough how valuable your feedback has been. Spaceborn is at a stage where community input can genuinely shape the direction of the game.
If you played the demo, first of all, thank you. We’d love to hear your thoughts through our feedback form. You can also join the conversation and connect with us on our Discord Server.
That’s all for now, but there are some exciting updates on the horizon, so stay tuned!
