Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to thank everyone once more for trying out Space Trench, it really means a lot to me that people are playing and enjoying the game so far. I've gotten mostly positive feedback from players, which is amazing to me as I didn't really think people would enjoy the game as much as they have. I don't really have much else to say up here but thank you all so much!

Below are the patch notes for version 1.0.13. Enjoy!

New Content

Added three new special orders revolving around movement speed.

Each one costs 600 scrap (subject to change) and is included in the base special orders, meaning you don't need a reward to unlock these.

Note: I included these because I wanted a movement speed build to be more viable outside of evasion, and it can give players some good rewards for building into movement speed heavily. These also make other movement speed upgrades, primarily Fear of the Dark and Employee of the Month, have a better place in a run's build.

I also added a new object to the inventory which shows some statistics for your run. Currently it only shows player max health and movement speed bonus, but I plan to flesh this out to include more stats later down the road.

Bug Fixes & Known Issues

Only bug fixes this patch was the removal of a variety of spots where Targinids couldn't damage you found by kederrak on Crew Quarters and Cargo Bay.

There are two bugs that I currently know about which I have not fixed yet:

  1. Sometimes when firing the Boom Tube, a rock will get lodged on the gun and never disappear.

Note: I am not entirely sure why this happens, but I also have not looked too much into it. It's fairly low priority by my standards since it's visual only and seems to only happen on endless mode after significant buffing to the Boom Tube occurs. That being said, I would still like to fix it at some point.

  2. Very rarely, player will be stuck permanently reloading weapon after reviving.

Note: I have absolutely no clue how this happens. Like at all. Fortunately, it is exceedingly rare and possibly insanely unlikely to ever occur again. I've only seen it happen once when my friend was playtesting the game for me and it's never happened since. I looked into it for a good bit when first encountered and could not for the life of me solve this one. If someone encounters this bug, please send me as much information about it as possible.

What's Next?

I don't know! I have a lot of ideas for future content that I would like to add, but a lot of them would take at least a few weeks to do so. This includes new enemies, levels, upgrades, weapons, etc. Obviously I would like to work on these ideas, but because they're such a time sink I would need this game to perform well enough financially for me to justify that time cost. In the meantime, I will be fixing bugs as they're reported, adding a few more quality of life features, and some minor special order additions.

If you encounter a bug, have balance suggestions, or have an idea that you want to see in the game, be sure to make a post in the discussion forums for the game or reach out to me. I will be travelling for the next few days, so I won't be able to work on the game or respond to the community as much as I'd like to, but I'll do what I can when I can, and work more on the game once I return. This is the first update that adds some new content and features a few code reworks, so hopefully nothing catastrophic happens with that while I'm away!

Until next time, best of luck on your Targinid killing endeavors!
