Repeated intro

Hey, everyone.

What changed

changedSoundtrackFirst and foremost is the release of the game's soundtrack. It's available to download for free right now and contains basic and high-quality audio options.
changedFutureFinancially speaking, this game has not done well. It has barely sold the past two months and will continue to barely sell for the foreseeable future. A content update would almost certainly not draw in new income for me. Almost half of all owners of Space Trench have never opened the game, and 75% of the owners who have opened it stopped playing around the 5 minute mark. If I were to put out another content update, the large majority of the people who would play the new content would be the roughly 30-50 people who already own the game and really like it.
addedFutureMy time would almost certainly be better spent working on new projects to release on Steam, which would give all my projects and me more attention in the long run. Not to mention a new project would also give me a financial boost that an update for this game wouldn't.
addedFutureI quite simply do not have the creative motivation to work on this project right now. I'm not sure if this is tied to the lack of players engaging with Space Trench, the creative freedom I was able to have on my other project, Beat This Game To See Hot Lady, being away from the code base for two months, or just wanting to move onto new projects, but I have not been motivated to make more content for this game. I have attempted several times to begin development on a new update in several diffferent departments, and I felt like I was forcing myself to engage with it every time.
changedFutureI will continue to post bug fixes if anyone encounters anything. Otherwise, this will be the last update for a while, but hopefully not forever. Wish you all the best, and thank you for your support thus far.

Space Trench Soundtrack

Future

Now for more unfortunate news. In my last few posts here I talked about working on another content update for Space Trench, releasing in late April. Now I have to say that this update is sadly cancelled for the time being. My decision comes down to two main reasons:

  1. Financially speaking, this game has not done well.

My time would almost certainly be better spent working on new projects to release on Steam, which would give all my projects and me more attention in the long run. Not to mention a new project would also give me a financial boost that an update for this game wouldn't.

  1. I quite simply do not have the creative motivation to work on this project right now.

I hope you all can understand my reasoning, but if you're upset with me then I do understand. This was not an easy decision to make, I hope you can believe me on that. I opted to release the soundtrack alongside this to try and mitigate some loss of content people might feel, though I realize most people don't bother with soundtracks on Steam. At some point I would like to deliver on my promise and provide at least one more content update, but that'd almost certainly be when I'm more financially stable, and there's no telling when that will be.

I will continue to post bug fixes if anyone encounters anything. Otherwise, this will be the last update for a while, but hopefully not forever. Wish you all the best, and thank you for your support thus far.
