Solium Infernum changes
We're proud to (finally!) announce that the Open Beta for the Pinnacle to the Pit update is NOW LIVE.
How to Join
Right-click on Solium Infernum in your Library games list and select 'Properties'.
Navigate to Game Version & Betas, enter the Password: [c]sibeta1142026 [/c]and click 'Check Code'.
You should now see '[c]release_1_1_4_beta' [/c]in the list above the password field. Select that option to download and use the Beta branch.
Purpose of the Beta
We're a small team without the internal testers or loose change to test this big, strange behemoth of a game, and 'Pinnacle to the Pit' represents the most substantial update to the game in the two years since launch.
So, we're releasing it to the community in Open Beta to help us test the new content. We're excited to get a range of people playing the game. Many Solium Infernum players are die-hard veterans who know the game inside out, but having all experience levels is also important to the process.
When the game is largely tested and issue-free, we'll release it to the main branch.
Playing on the Beta Branch
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE:
This beta is on a completely separate server instance. This means you cannot play regular games of Solium Infernum on the Beta Branch, and vice versa, whether singleplayer or multiplayer. This prevents any confusion or accidental use of the wrong branch while taking turns.
You'll need to swap back and forth between branches if you want to play regular games at the same time.
If you have notifications switched on, you will receive them regardless of which branch you're on. Uou will still have to switch branch manually to access them.
Please use the Bug Sender button (top right of screen) if you notice or suspect any Bugs. This is the fastest way for us to identify and resolve issues.
Join the LoG Discord server to talk about your experiences! The Bug Sender is for bugs, but the LoG Discord is great for hearing general sentiment and more qualitative feedback.
Please concentrate on the new Beta content when looking for bugs (but obviously report any others, particularly any that might stall games).
We do love theory-crafting and wild ideas from players, but keep in mind that the update content is largely finished, and the Beta is about testing and refining the content rather than creating new ideas or large modifications.
Localisation: Apologies to our non-english speaking players, the Beta supports English only. Localisation for the update will occur during the Beta once it is stable.
Community
Thanks to all players jumping in to test the Update Beta and helping us to make it the best it can be. The community for Solium Infernum is a welcoming and passionate place - if you're looking for experienced advice, a place to find games, or just for the discussion, jump aboard the LoG Discord Server.

Bounty - a prestige bonus is awarded for legally eliminating another Archfiend from the game.
Fodder - Striders and Hosts have a new ability - they do not provide XP to level 4+ legions.
The level-up thresholds of Places of Power have been lowered.
Players can aid Pandaemonium against would-be usurpers during a crisis by using legion support against excommunicated rivals.
Explicitly unlocked improvements to stratagem values on certain wrath levels, rather than their increasing with each wrath level.
Lure of excess, chains of avarice or truce end now have messages.
Buff Ring of Renewal - add max HP.
Shadow Binding no longer requires overcoming the target’s level.
The Black Altar Place of Power is back in Multiplayer games.
Erzesebet now benefits from the support of Lured opponents.
Bug Fixes
Softlock would occur when a titan affected by Infernal Juggernaut was returned to the Bazaar.
Particle effects were not triggering on titans.
Particle effects were missing from the board (fog).
Artifact of sorcery cards showed the wrath power icon on the ritual table.
Bifrons’ protective would not appear correctly in the UI when Bifrons himself is targeted.
Vampiric Reaping would not immediately heal a legion.
Shadow Binding turn log would show, but with no indication of what the ritual did.
The UI would “leak” information about the target’s use of Evil Ward and Expose Treason.
Players were asked to pay the upkeep of a ritual affecting a titan on the turn that said titan was returned to the Bazaar.
Rituals that end on the same turn as a battle didn't count towards schemes like Deadly Doping.
Regent with Unnatural Prescience and max prophecy didn't draw the correct number of event cards.
Place of power attachments weren't correctly cleared when the new owner had fewer slots or when the POP become neutral.
Send Emissary tooltips incorrectly reported a 3-turn duration instead of a dynamic duration based on rank and token count.
Abyss Leviathan and Angelic Host disappeared rather than wandering randomly when no targets were available.
Archfiends with 8 in a power were immune to losing points from this power.
Attachment could move transferred off a POP even after it was captured.
The scheme “Goliath Slain” (destroy a higher-level legion with only stratagems) would not complete.
Cursed Personal Guard legions came back cursed while Death Takes A Holiday was active.
Malevolent Retaliation dealt an incorrect amount of damage if the user was killed before retaliating.
Angel and Leviathan didn't count as higher level Legions / Titans for the purposes of completing schemes.
The player was considered to be in a Vendetta with Striders for the purposes of completing schemes.
There was a typo (“pusue”) in the demand back-down text.
The current level and experience of the winning praetor displayed on the duel screen, rather than the values at the time of the duel.
Pawns did not visibly respawn when great scythe’s user healed during combat.
Known Issues
There is an irregular bug causing the end-turn button to disappear. This can be remedied by hitting the F5 button to refresh the UI, or failing that, leaving and re-entering the game.
Hell-sculpted cantons have a chance to not visually show change in the terraforming after being re-hell-sculpted.
Dreaming Head has warped artwork in the ritual screen.
Rituals: cannot read the tooltip of an ongoing ritual card by mousing over it.
Entering a preator duel with Abraxas against anybody else, upon using the ability "Salute of the Damned" gives 0 prestige upon winning.
When comparing preators, mousing over the selected preator to compare does not show up the tooltip for their abilities.
Comparing preators from the owned preator list keep the "comparing" label on top of the after having being selected to be compared. Previously compared preators keep the same label.
Opening up the owned list of preators and trying to compare one preator to the other, the positioning of the second preator being compared has inconsistent placement on the screen.
Mousing over artifact cards whether or not placed in the menu to the left or the actual cards being used in Rituals do not show up the tooltip indicating what the ritual does.
Moving your mouse around the screen in the ritual menu seems to indicate that you're mousing over the cards on the left even when you're not trying to. This is happening after putting down an Artifact onto the rituals UI.
When selecting any ritual card and dragging it to the ritual slots, if you simply let go of it before the animation shows the card being in an actual ritual spot, the ritual card card simply floats to the top and does not go back to the deck.
Using Hellsculpt ritual to terraform cantons to the same type of terrain won't show them "combine" until exiting the game and loading back in.
Happy Hunting!
