Solar Sails: Space Pirates changes
Ahoy everyone!
We are moving ahead with the development process, and this is our new gameplay teaser!
Take a look at our 5 new ship classes and updated weaponry systems:
So far, we have:
Added 5 new ship classes, each offering a different play style.
Each class has basic attributes, such as movement speed, steering, hull HP, shield, number of weapon slots, and sails' energy capacity.
Improved our weaponry system. Now you can assign different weapons to the ship's weapon slots.
Added new weapon types, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
Added new Drone mechanics. Now you can mount different special weapons on the Drone.
Added the force shield.
Updated some models, both the player ships and the enemies.
Started working on our new UI systems.
Five new ship classes
Each ship class starts with basic attributes and can be customized and upgraded:
Schooner - very high speed, very high maneuverability, low firepower, low HP
Corvette - moderate speed, moderate maneuverability, moderate firepower, moderate HP
Frigate - low speed, low maneuverability, high firepower, very high HP
Galleon - high speed, very low maneuverability, very high firepower, high HP
Brig - very low speed, very high maneuverability, moderate firepower, high HP
Six new weapons
Cannon - moderate damage, moderate attack speed, moderate range
Ballista - low damage, moderate attack speed, high speed, high range, breaks enemy weaponry
Mortar - high damage, low attack speed, long range, deals area of effect damage
Shrapnel - high damage, low attack speed, short range, spreads in a cone, loses damage over distance
Ancient Cannon - high damage, moderate attack speed, moderate range, unbreakable
Ancient Mortar - high damage, low attack speed, long range, deals area of effect damage, unbreakable
