Exciting New Stuff:
New controls customization options!
We overhauled how custom controls work in the game, with the goal of making the controls more consistent across player actions, stations, and our various game menus.
Customizing a button now affects all actions which use that button. Actions which share a button have been combined to a single entry on the settings screen.
This includes UI and Menu functions! So the buttons for activate and grab will always also be the menu confirm buttons, and the buttons for special (throw) and pause will always be the menu back buttons.,
The Pause button is now customizable!
Tab Left and Right are now customizable, so you can use those buttons for other actions without messing up the settings menu.
Because of these changes, all custom control have been reset. If you have previously set up custom controls, you'll need to stop by the settings menu to update them.
You now have to unlock the Cat Ears and Dog Ears cosmetics.
If you would like some Cat Ears, maybe try finding a cat?
For the Dog Ear, why not try chasing your tail for a while?
Improvements:
It turns out none of our lightmaps were working correctly in build, so we've changed the way we load all of our large set pieces (spaceships and space stations) to work with our baked lighting setup. Glowing things should now glow correctly! Go check out that pretty pink light in the office!,
It is now easier to walk onto the upper left and right weapon modules on The Rampage.
We noticed that in some cases you can leave your friends behind at shop space stations. We have made this much easier to do. heh heh heh
Added additional controller button icons: Shoulder buttons, and start and select equivalents.
Using the keyboard or controller to navigate the settings menu, now defaults to customizing the controls for that device when selected.
Plasma Vents now do 4 stacks of burning every 4 seconds using 25 power (changed from 1 stack of burning every 1 second using 5 power), and now apply the first stack immediately on activation.
Bugs Fixes:
The emergency lights on The Rampage now spin correctly. You probably never noticed this issue because you're never at very low ship health. Right? Right?!
Fixed UI overlap issues on the How to Play menu.
There is no longer an incorrect indication that you can interact with the Speed Steering station.
You can now immediately apply an upgrade after picking it up while standing on a module slot.
The Top Hat, Monocle, Halo, Crown, and Tiara cosmetics were all equipable before you actually unlocked them. Sorry, but now you're going to have to earn them.
Fix a bug where the game would break if you finished a run while in the pause menu.
Fixed an issue where dead zones for controller control sticks were not correctly configured.
Fixed a bunch of cases where temporary effects from events (such as movement speed buffs and debuffs, and hazards) were not so temporary.
Fixed an issue when playing the tutorial after the first player had left the game.
Fixed an issue where the companion ball would make jittery sounds when stating still, or rolling mainly for client players.
Corrected the space trivia question about the first landing on another planet. No, I'm not telling you the correct answer.
