SNØ: Ultimate Freeriding changes
It is exciting times for SNØ!
We have finally begun looking into the possibility of getting SNØ over to consoles! In order to prepare SNØ for a cross platform future, we have spent the last couple of months attending to some issues that needed fixing, as well as adding some new requested features!
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT UPDATE 1.0.5 ⚠️ Some of the bugs we discovered while working with this update was not possible to fix without causing a bit of friction. Please bear with us, and read on for more details about why.
⚠️🏅 Due to a scoring bug, the leaderboards for Infinite Run and Score Dash will be archived, replaced by new empty ones
⚠️🎮 Remapping for joysticks/gamepads will be reset
⚠️✅ Some checkbox settings might have to be toggled back and forth in order to work again
These are all the changed in SNØ 1.0.5.10
Additions
🚠 Pole Hunt - New game mode where the point is to ride as far as you can before the timer runs out. The mountain is transformed into an abandoned snowpark during this mode, and you extend your time by passing poles. It also comes with its own leaderboard. Let the hunt for the ultimate snow park begin!
🎿New riding stile - Is it a ski? is it a Snowboard? No! It's a Monoski! It's stylish, from the 80s and comes with a complementary headband. Find it somewhere beyond the 1000 m mark.
🧘 Zen mode slider - Adjust the density of obstacles in Zen-mode freely between 10 and 100 % of normal density. Available in the settings menu.
🚮 Clear high score - It is now possible to delete your high score, should you want it. The button is hidden by default. Navigate to the top left of the main menu and it will reveal itself.
Changes
⛑️Head piece - Generated skins now have a chance of including helmet, headband, hooded and an unhooded head. This will not affect already generated skins.
🚩Poles - Replaced all instances of red poles in normal snow park biome with the single pole. The groups of poles have been transferred to Pole Hunt as time extension objects.
🔒 Stay on mountain icon - The icon for staying on same mountain now features a lock instead of a heart to make it more clear what the option does
Scoring Changes
🪂 New swoop chaining - Get extra points by chaining swoops with the glider within the same combo
🎯 Bullseye scoring bump - More obstacles with holes in them give a flat point reward for passing through them. You also get slightly more points for this now.
🔄️ Rotation scoring bump - Spinning in air yield slightly more points per degree and per full rotation
🚩 Pass by scoring bug - Fixed bug causing pass by scoring to potentially yield a much bigger combo chain than intended. More details in bugfixes below.
Bugfixes
🪂 Glider pattern - Fixed bug causing glider patterns to be applied wrong (scale and offset). This may result in some unlocked gliders appearing slightly different.
🎮 Air Rotation bug - Fixed bug causing joystick triggers to rotate you in both y and z-axis. Now you will only rotate about your Y-axis when using triggers in air (using the default settings). If you have remapped your joystick input you will have to remap them again after this update. since this fix to this issue made it necessary to restore remapped inputs to default.
🏔️ Peak Of The Week - Attempt at fixing bug caused by week rollover between play sessions**
✅ Settings bug - Fixed bug causing certain checkbox based settings to sometimes not load properly. If your game behaves strange (HUD not appearing in game etc.), check your settings, and toggle relevant option back and forth to fix the issue. From there on out it should be fine. Sorry about the inconvenience.
⚰️ Obstacle tags - Fixed some missing tags on some obstacles, making it easier to understand what caused a crash (tree, rock, obstacle, ice or creature)
🚩 Pass by scoring bug - Fixed bug that caused pass by scoring to inconsistently yield way more points than intended when passing obstacles consisting of multiple colliders. Two players taking practically the same amount of risk could be rewarded vastly different scores, based on whether a very specific condition was met. Since the fix practically makes it more difficult to reach high scores, we saw it as necessary to archive the leaderboards to keep the competition fair.
Thank you for reading! If you experience any issues with this update, please do not hesitate to reach out on our Discord or here in the Steam forums!
Happy easter, and happy pole hunting! 🐣

*🚠 Pole Rush was created based on our community's desire for a "slalom" mode, as well as several requests for more snow park options. While it's not really slalom, nor really snow park, we think the new mode is fitting for SNØ!
**🏔️ Peak of the Week uses real time, and edge cases are tough to test thoroughly without seeing it in the real world. Please let us know if you still experience issues.
