SlidefyingBadaBoom Penguin through a Slipstream: Rise of the Penguins 3 changes
can now lean and hop between rails
I updated the game reducing the menu sfx sounds and also doing a few other things to improve the player. I didn't get any feedback regarding tutorial prompts if i should add some to the level 1 or anything i might just to enforce that you can drift and charge jump and chain jumps etc but we'll see about that. No one beat the level 1 I assume people got stuck at the arena section so just made that easier on normal modes then.
also a few notes on the overall game and the next fest
looking at the numbers and other people's advice online it's easy to get distracted into thinking I should wrap up my game and then work on the next one. But that would be a disgrace to my Rise of the Penguins franchise I've created for myself.
I have never made a 3d game in godot before it's been fun and hardest part probably is that the way i made the levels maybe isn't the best but for this linear type of game it's fine. I'm pretty happy with how a lot of the enemies I've made in some of the levels in general behave. Still working on trying to make bosses feel good but since I'm still figuring out more of the player items and other mechanics it's going to take a bit to solidify them.
As well as i think it's very important that I add these multiplayer and split screen features into my game even if no one ends up using it.
So this is just more of a note to myself I suppose but I think after making a few games I'm honestly not super disappointed in no one playing my game. I've been more motivated because of this relief. I've also decided for the most part not to email any creators or people because I don't really see the point unless I really want to hear what they have to say and have watched some of their content.
Also in the future I'll probably talk more about the features in my game I didn't do it so much in my last game because I think I had a fear of sharing the ideas in my game. But I think it's worth sharing because since I now know no one is going to play my game I think it's important to share my ideas of what I created in some way.
