What changed

3 fixes5 additions3 changes1 removal
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
  • Balance
changedMenu Navigation MemoryThis also means all updates to levels and data will be updated in the lists as soon as it happens making sure that 1 Like you put in the level actually shows up
addedSemi-Revert To Social BarWhen viewing a level you can Hype/Rate (Tags and Difficulty)/Like/Fav and Report it. Originally each had their own button and I recently merged them into one mega modal. This worked ok, but in the end it meant you couldn't glance and see if you liked/fav'd a level, and due to having two pages it was easy to miss that you HAVE to save on the second page. So this has now been semi-reverted so that each one has a place on the social bar, with Likes/Fav/Report giving quick feedback and changes, while Hype and Rate now have their own individual modals.
changedSemi-Revert To Social BarAlso updated the modals look and feel for Hype and Rate to look cooler and just be less shit
fixedGeneral FixesMouse is now Confined (to the window) and Hidden instead of just hidden throughout the game to avoid running off screen while you're playing - note: when in a menu and the cursor is visible, it's fully unlocked so you can move out of the window (this felt like the best balance of control vs accidental unfocus)
fixedGeneral FixesA ton of menu interactions finally have sfx for hover and click - they should have been singing before but I just hadn't got around to it
addedGeneral FixesWhen you have a score on a level that has been updated, a new icon will appear (with tooltip) letting you know (this will help when skimming a long list and not realising you are missing a rank)

Let's go! There's been a huge feature I've been keen to get to and it's finally here. Check it:

Menu Navigation Memory

  • Going into a level and back out to the list now remembers where you were! This seems very trivial on the surface, but this was a big one to do behind the scenes, so let me know if you notice any odd things!

  • Expanding 'Load More' to view more levels also works, taking you back to that exact place in the list when you come back - in some cases this may take a moment

  • This also means all updates to levels and data will be updated in the lists as soon as it happens making sure that 1 Like you put in the level actually shows up

  • Main Menu and all backend calls for levels has been cleaned up and streamlined where possible, so in some cases it should be snappier

Semi-Revert To Social Bar

  • When viewing a level you can Hype/Rate (Tags and Difficulty)/Like/Fav and Report it.

  • Also updated the modals look and feel for Hype and Rate to look cooler and just be less shit

General Fixes

  • Mouse is now Confined (to the window) and Hidden instead of just hidden throughout the game to avoid running off screen while you're playing - note: when in a menu and the cursor is visible, it's fully unlocked so you can move out of the window (this felt like the best balance of control vs accidental unfocus)

  • A ton of menu interactions finally have sfx for hover and click - they should have been singing before but I just hadn't got around to it

  • When you have a score on a level that has been updated, a new icon will appear (with tooltip) letting you know (this will help when skimming a long list and not realising you are missing a rank)

  • Level Cards have had a few design tweaks with a new background texture and other minor updates

  • Level Editor list now only pulls the latest 30 levels (not a bulk of 300) - this was a legacy item that I was able to sort out when I rebuilt menus

  • Clone Level was moved back into the level settings itself

  • Likes no longer say 1K when you just like it once...honestly no idea how that slipped through

  • Tooltips have been added to a variety of items including the rank

Next up... maybe some new hazards??? Maybe more sorting options? ... who knows... fun times! - Diesel
