addedPlease remember that some of the things I talk about may never be added to the game. I just want to share some things I am testing and what is likely to be in this upcoming update.
removedEndless Waves Endless Waves is what it sounds like. You fight enemies in waves, and the more waves you complete, the more challenging they become! This mode is pretty simple and is a good way to try out different gear combinations and get familiar with the game's combat. I'm not locking rewards behind it though, as this is just a fun extra mode not to be taken that seriously like the Heracles and Aphrodite modes, but the amount of waves you survive is recorded. At the start of each wave, you must pick a weapon or a helmet and then upgrade your abilities. Healing will remove your equipped gear. When you start each wave, there is a chance the arena will change!
addedUnlockables You may also remember that I once mentioned adding unlockable outfits to the game. I mentioned the ideas of a Cowgirl Aphrodite, and giving cowboy hats to the player character. It turns out Aphrodite is by far the easiest character to make alternate outfits for. This is because she is human and isn't directly involved in the gameplay. Making unlockable outfits for the player and Minotaur has been far more challenging. The Minotaur is half human, and because the player is randomly generated, it is hard to make unlocks always match well. I actually did make the cowboy hats, but they looked so out of place with the ancient Greek armor that I decided not to add them.
addedAnother cosmetic idea I had was to give players winged feet if they complete the game in under a certain amount of time. These I do not feel as confident about. I think you don't actually see the player's feet enough for them to be interesting. I've experimented with adding visual trails to the feet, but I think it comes off as distracting. These probably need more work, but I would also say they are the most likely not to happen. Although I did like the idea that the faster you go, they would change, so whoever has the fastest time would also have the brightest wings or something like that.
changedThis is planned to be the last update, but I am not ruling out the possibility of returning to the game. I mostly just need a break from it! I'd also really like to start making other games. So again, please follow me on Twitter or subscribe to my YouTube channel if you want to know what I end up doing in the future! This kind of support off of Steam helps future games even before they get a store page!

Please consider following me on Twitter and subscribing on YouTube to keep up to date on Slay the Minotaur and whatever I'll do in the future!

This update will probably be the last Slay the Minotaur update. I may return to it someday, but for now, this will be the last major update. So if you want to keep up with what I'll be doing later, it is very important that you follow me on those other platforms!

Please remember that some of the things I talk about may never be added to the game. I just want to share some things I am testing and what is likely to be in this upcoming update.

Endless Waves Endless Waves is what it sounds like. I actually did make the cowboy hats, but they looked so out of place with the ancient Greek armor that I decided not to add them.

Cloaks and Wings I actually wanted cloaks for a long time, but I was having trouble making them look good. I am thinking I may allow some kind of customization to the cloak, such as choosing a color or other details. I'll have to see how well I can incorporate something like that.

Another cosmetic idea I had was to give players winged feet if they complete the game in under a certain amount of time. These I do not feel as confident about. I think you don't actually see the player's feet enough for them to be interesting. I've experimented with adding visual trails to the feet, but I think it comes off as distracting. Although I did like the idea that the faster you go, they would change, so whoever has the fastest time would also have the brightest wings or something like that.

The update should be out in May.

This is planned to be the last update, but I am not ruling out the possibility of returning to the game. I mostly just need a break from it! I'd also really like to start making other games. This kind of support off of Steam helps future games even before they get a store page!

For now, this upcoming update should be treated as the last major content update to expect. Thanks for playing!
