Talk To Me !

Greetings, Storm Treaders!

When Skyward Extraction first launched, the proximity voice chat was a really important feature for us, and in internal testing, things seemed to be working the way we intended. But as with all things, once it got out into the wild and hundreds of players were using it, the cracks started to show.

This update has been a huge priority for us. We want you to be able to immerse yourself in the world of relencost, and that's hard to do when you've got to use a 3rd Party application just to communicate with your friends.

WIth this update, we've completely ripped out and implemented a brand new voice chat solution. This should fix all voice disconnection issues, stuttering, and poor sound quality as well as integrating into the current sound and audio system much more efficiently.

There are still more things we are planning, like Separate volume control per player, muting loud folks, and rebinding the push to talk hotkey, but we wanted to get a working voice chat into the game as a priority that we can then update and polish as we continue through early access.

With this change, you may need to manually set your Input device in the settings menu before others will be able to hear you, but for the most part it should work right out of the box.

We've also been working on a bunch of minor bugfixes and trying to clear out as many crashes as we can.

In this update, you'll also find some small QoL changes and a bit of visual polish.

Once again, the team here at Naughty Clogs wants to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us in this adventure. We appreciate each and every one of you as we continue growing the world. }

Until Next time, we'll see YOU beyond the stormwall!

New Stuff

Brand new voice chat implementation.

Drone Message System for broadcasting your voice to the drone operator.

Changed

Fuel is now used when leaving a location, but trying to fly to a new location with 0 fuel will result in your run failing.

Enemies should no longer camp out in the dungeon entrance. We've made other locations much more appealing.

Lantern No Longer interacts with Fog, so it should be a little more clear

Fixes

Fixed Sound volume settings.

Added missing sounds for Out of Fuel, and Drone becoming available.

Fixed Several rare crashes.

Fixed Goblin getting stuck in one spot shooting darts at the wall.
