Casey's Big Update

CEO, thirty-four patches' worth of new features, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements all rolled into one announcement. Here's what changed.

The World Got Bigger

The map went from 6 regions to 15. Europe split into Western, Eastern, and Nordic. Asia broke into East, Southeast, South, and Central. Africa divided into North and Sub-Saharan. The Americas split into North America and Latin America. Each sub-region has its own diplomatic standings, airline pools, and sanctions rules.

  • All 532 cities now have hand-verified region assignments. Your existing saves migrate automatically.

  • Your home city shapes diplomacy from day one. Start in Tokyo and East Asia rolls out the welcome mat. A new 15x15 relationship matrix means every starting location plays differently.

  • Two new AI rivals fill the expanded map. Tatra Air operates flights from Eastern Europe, and Turan Air serves Central Asia.

  • New campaign step: pick your home city before takeoff. Search any of 532 cities by name or airport code, or grab one from the recommended list. Your pick gets a free Level 1 hub and an airport slot.

  • The Cold War wall now blocks only North American routes to the USSR. Latin America flies free. Havana-Moscow is back on the table.

  • The USSR and Russia no longer appear side by side in region pickers. The map label over Moscow reads "Soviet Union" before 1992 and "Russia" after.

Multi-Stop Revenue

Multi-stop routes now earn local passenger revenue on each leg. A London-Paris-Rome flight picks up Paris-Rome travelers in the middle seats. Through passengers still get priority boarding.

  • Local demand is computed per city pair on every leg, with competition from other airlines serving the same segment. Through passengers pay a discounted end-to-end fare. Remaining seats sell locally at full price per leg.

  • 5th-freedom restrictions apply to realism-mode players. Your home region's legs get full local boarding rights. Foreign legs operate under tighter rules.

  • The Strategic Advisor was counting flight hours per leg as if each leg had the plane all month. A 3-leg route got 720 hours from a 240-hour plane. Fixed. Projections now split time across legs properly, and era demand scaling is factored in.

Casey's Automations Desk

Eight new automations join the lineup. Set them, and Casey handles the rest.

  • Auto-accept fuel hedging. When a hedging offer comes in, Casey locks the fuel price on your behalf. No cash cost.

  • Auto-accept subsidies. Government money goes straight into the bank.

  • Auto-respond to union negotiations. Set a policy: accept, counter-offer at your chosen percentage, or reject on arrival.

  • Auto-respond to lawsuits. Settle, hire lawyers, or fight. Your call, Casey's execution.

  • Auto-accept capacity contracts. Set a minimum revenue floor, and Casey binds contracts to your best-fit route.

  • Auto-bid slot auctions. Casey bids at cities you already serve, up to a cap you set.

  • Suppress credit rating alerts and crew strike notifications. The mechanics still fire. The toasts just stop interrupting your empire.

All eight ship with full UI controls, thresholds, and policies in Settings. Save, load, and reset plumbed.

Your Fleet, Your Way

  • Per-instance hangar picker. The CONNECT TO dropdown now shows each hangar plane individually with its custom spec summary. Got two 747s with different configs? You'll see them as separate entries.

  • Shared-plane-only routes. Routes fully covered by shared calendar planes can now have all dedicated aircraft removed. The minus button goes all the way to zero.

  • Inline callsign editing. Click any aircraft name in Fleet Overview to rename it. Callsigns now show up in the City Panel and Route Performance views too.

  • Custom specs survive route cancellation. ETOPS rating, avionics, engine options are all preserved when a plane returns to the hangar. Your modified A319 stays modified.

  • Fleet Overview click-through. Click any row in the Active Fleet tab to open Route Details.

  • ETOPS reads your real spec. Upgraded avionics and crew rest stations actually count toward overwater range clearance now. Swapping aircraft on a route checks ETOPS compliance too.

Achievements and Steam

The trophy case got a full overhaul.

  • 17 achievements restored. Continental mastery awards for each continent. Mega route milestones at 20,000 and 50,000 routes. A 250-city connectivity badge. Endless mode markers at 2050 and 2100. Six future aviation achievements. Fleet diversity at 20 types. Century of Continuity for flying 1930 through 2030.

  • Steam sync fixed. Achievements you earned were recorded locally but never made it to Steam's servers. Fixed. Your trophies now post to your Steam profile.

  • Leaderboard scores fixed. Score uploads could match to the wrong board if two requests raced. Rewired so each lookup flies one at a time. Era 5 leaderboard added.

  • Achievement names corrected."Jet-Set Billionaire" renamed to "Jet-Set Multi-Millionaire" ($100M, not $1B). "World Domination" no longer claims "all 150 cities" on a 532-city map.

  • New Steam sync buttons in Settings. If your achievements or leaderboard scores seem stuck, hit the sync button and Casey will push them manually.

  • Duplicate achievement entries fixed. The display list was rebuilding on top of itself when the panel opened.

Settings and Career

  • Settings reorganized. Related controls grouped into 14 logical sections: Display, Audio, Gameplay, Campaign, Sandbox, Mouse, Controller, Notifications, Accessibility, Fleet, Career, Steam, Tutorial, System.

  • Career Profile section. Reset your legacy points, unlock history, and achievement progress from one spot. Confirmation dialog included so nobody nukes their profile by accident.

  • Credits screen. Accessible from the main menu. Community Champions section with clickable links to content creators. Auto-scroll with mouse-hover pause.

Quality of Life

  • Demand slider now goes up to 10x for those who like their airports heaving.

  • Lease buyouts use a sliding discount. Early buyouts cost more, late ones cost less.

  • Suspended and grounded routes still show their aircraft sprites on the map.

  • Achievement notifications now have a "View All Achievements" button.

  • New auto-pause option: the game pauses when a world event fires.

  • Antitrust regulators ease off when AI rivals barely operate in your region.

  • Executive salaries now appear as their own line in quarterly cost breakdown.

  • Distance displays respect for your unit preference everywhere. 20 locations were stuck on kilometers.

  • Campaign setup screens now fit on 720p monitors with proper scroll bars.

  • Adding aircraft from the City Panel pops a confirmation toast with a running tally.

  • Brand-adjusted fuel burn now shows in the aircraft comparison table and Strategic Advisor projections.

  • The "Show more destinations" button in CONNECT TO actually works now.

  • Crew union demands now scale with era and airline profitability. 1930s demands drop to proportionate levels.

  • Runway expansion steepened for the jet age. LHR accessible to 707s by 1958.

  • AI rivals now rebuild damaged airports and avoid opening routes to destroyed ones.

  • AI rivals can now lease aircraft when they can't afford to buy. Rivals with fewer than 3 routes get a rescue evaluation each quarter.

  • Engine manufacturer names are now renameable, same as aircraft manufacturers.

Bug Fixes

  • Delivery countdown rings no longer get stuck on the map forever during mass replacements.

  • Leased routes now pass through every safety gate that purchased routes do. Seven checks were previously missing, including ETOPS, sanctions, and the Cold War wall.

  • Union wage increases now follow your airline, not just your routes. Cancelling a route with expensive crew wages and recreating it fresh no longer dodges the wage floor.

  • Save and Exit no longer overwrites the wrong slot after loading, then starting a new campaign.

  • Delivery status syncs correctly on save/load.

  • Order Spec panel fuel display now includes brand modifiers.

  • City Panel aircraft picker: capacity no longer shows as a dollar amount, range respects distance unit preference, custom-spec planes get a badge.

Performance

  • Fixed a frame-rate drop when the Strategic Advisor was open. Cash updates were hammering every button 60 times a second.

  • City Panel speed fix for hub airports. The swap picker was pre-building an aircraft catalog for every route row on every refresh. Hub cities with 5+ routes should feel instant now.

  • Map renderer optimization. Airplane position data is now shared across all sprites instead of set per-plane every frame.

Blue skies, CEO.
