SKY DRILL changes
Steam post image
Steam's Next Fest is here!
I may or may not have gotten sidetracked with Brackey's game jam in the past week, but that won't stop me from releasing a huge update for Next Fest (at 3AM the morning of... haha)
Update 1.5.2 introduces a lot of fixes, gameplay changes, and general polish. Most notably, treasure and digging should now feel more gratifying. For the full changelog, head below. If you'd like to support SKY DRILL during the festival, be sure to drop a wishlist and dive in! I'll see you all on the leaderboard.
Before the changelog, a quick shoutout to everyone in my community: Thank you to everyone in the past couple weeks who have supported the game by playtesting, wishlisting, and even posting valuable bug feedback in the discord! Working on this game is made 10x more fun knowing that I have you all here to see how the game takes shape. Look forward to the upcoming release!
Update 1.5.2.0 Changelog
Bugs / Fixes
Fixed an issue causing purchased upgrades to not take effect in some cases. All upgrades should now work.
Fixed small disappearing platforms sometimes leaving their hitbox behind (thanks for that one, Sam).
Fixed an issue causing the master sound volume to be much higher than it should be on startup
Removed old firebase-related boilerplate which was causing some issues when interacting with the Steam leaderboard
Fixed an issue causing badges to show as their internal ids in the item catalogue
Fixed an issue causing the 'vertigo' upgrade to not work at all, and be enabled by default in some cases without even buying it
Fixed an issue where the player could get into the shop without investing the necessary coins

Updated almost every item related to 'BOOST' in the game; 'BOOST' now boosts you upwards if climbing, and downwards if digging.
Revised visuals for the mini and main leaderboards; added a new "personal best" section that displays your best score.
Reworked Rapier - the item now boosts you much farther and faster, and is more satisfying to use
Added a fourth shop bottle slot
Revised and re-mastered treasure collection SFX
Added particle VFX to items that give the player 'BOOST'
Adjusted dive power so that digging generally does not last as long
