Sins of the Desert changes
For over a month there were no updates — because this time the focus was not new content, but stability.
This patch reinforces the foundations of Sins of the Desert: AI behavior, ritual interaction logic, audio consistency, saving systems, and storage functionality.
🎮 Controls & Camera
A collider conflict caused certain interaction keys to stop responding.
In first-person view, the character could see themselves when rotating the camera.
During ritual scenes, opening the menu caused animation glitches — menu access during active rituals is now properly restricted.
The ritual focus camera sometimes failed to activate on first attempt.
If interacting with objects during drink animations, the character could freeze.
All interaction logic has been stabilized.
🚪 AI & Interaction Fixes
AI could get stuck in navigation and only move when the player approached.
NPCs walked through tent doors during scheduled behaviors.
After private interactions, NPCs sometimes failed to reset to default state.
Certain characters used incorrect movement animations.
Approaching NPCs during active scenes could lock interaction until restart.
Attempting to interact with non-interactive characters caused UI lock.
AI now behaves consistently. Doors are solid. Interaction flow is stable.
🔊 Audio Fixes
Character voice lines sometimes continued playing after scenes ended.
Ambient ritual sounds were not properly localized.
Music stop affected only the current track.
Switching tracks did not update chat notification.
Desert wind ambient sound was unbalanced across channels.
Audio is now synchronized, localized, and consistent.
🖥️ UI Improvements
Placeholder text appeared briefly in radial menus before loading tooltips.
Some objects had labels while identical objects did not.
UI color inconsistencies have been corrected.
Interface logic is now stable and visually unified.
💾 Save & Persistence Improvements
Pickup items did not retain position after restart.
Selected item variants sometimes reset.
Wearable and ritual items now remember their placement instead of returning to spawn points.
Added “Save Position” option in menu.
Your desert camp now stays exactly how you leave it.
📦 Storage System
Storage chests are now fully functional.
Carryable containers added • Items can be placed inside • Stored items persist after restart
Camp organization is now possible.
🎵 Music System
Music switching logic fixed.
Track names now properly appear in chat.
Ambient transitions are smoother and stable.
👤 Personalization
You can now set a custom nickname in Settings instead of using your system name.
Your identity in the desert is now your own.
Final Words
This is a foundation update.
The desert is smoother. AI behaves naturally. Ritual logic is stable. Audio works correctly. Items persist.
Sins of the Desert now feels truly alive.
