ITS A SIGN!
This project was really fun to make but I'm not done yet. I may have started this game but it's up to your reviews to tweak it to perfection. If you enjoy playing but get bored or if the design is not quite to your liking your reviews can help to give it an edge. A machine gun power up sounds cool....or perhaps a gun load-out tree that unlocks new weapon types. Should I add a secret underground chamber that allow a free 2nd wind from jail upon death to only the most experienced players? I don't know.
This game is ODOT themed. It gives a new perspective on road anxiety. I don't like roads. It would be nice if roads were better designed for wildlife and pedestrians (my town doesn't even have sidewalks) the world it seems is not being designed for people, just cars. Cars are cool but the collateral damage to communities and ecosystems is unacceptable. hmm-mm UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!
Known Glitches
can escape jail through the window for a free 2nd wind
camera movement is jerky and sensitivity is difficult to dial down on
Mobs have sporadic behavior specific to each mob (but these are more like surprise features ;)
loot box timing is inconsistent due to delay functions that short out (easy fix)
map is small
Double rockets achievement and "it teleports" conflict
if player falls out of map game must be closed to restart (it only happens if you are trying to jump over the wall)
lag spikes due to physics conflict (finding where is more difficult to troubleshoot)
mobs sometimes fall through map when raining signs
Planned Features
Larger Map
smoother Game-play
more vending machined and better base building (how is up to reviews)
more power ups!
Zombie crossing sign
more expanded loot box and resource depletion (the box will move after random purchases)
better props and aesthetic value
better blending of assets into scene
shadows take a lot of processing, will bake lighting in later. dynamic lighting is expensive.
Dark Mode will be re-enabled when fighting boss signs
may add roads to larger map and spawn cop drones for moving violations
red-light green-light penalties
mob effects that confuse player and add difficulty
achievements link to steam and in app purchases that work like an arcade ( quarters for second wind , money packages, and loot-boxes) sticking to the old school prices ;) will be designed to not conflict with game-play. (coins are hard to get but having $3000 only makes the game more fun)
the rest is up to your reviews
The free version that is released today will be free forever! there may be glitch updates. maybe. but full development will be added to a DLC for a small price. more than anything I want people to play and enjoy my games. money comes when it comes but I am a solo developer aiming to get practice making cool stuff in my free time. When the DLC is released please support future development by contributing the value of a half a cup of coffee for a lifetime of game-play. (I've had like 100 cups developing and testing). It is not cheap posting on steam and future projects depend on you. Thank you!
Do you have an idea for a game but have no experience or know how to make it happen? I can help!
I take ideas and create environments. let me know if you have design plans and want to co-op future projects tailored to your specific game-play style.
