Sigil of Kings changes
A few updates since last time, steering direction to something shareable in the near future.
Starting GUI screens
From the main menu until you get into the game, there are a number of screens. I have now added a few more screens (in bold) and redesigned existing ones, so that the order is now:
Main menu
Game mode (Campaign, Tutorial, etc)
World creation screen (Biome)
Society generation screen (cities, relationships)
Player - Choose your people
Player - Customise your looks
Player - Assign attributes and skills
There are randomisation options to make the process a bit faster if you want to get into the game quickly.
You can see these in the following video:
Mushroom patches
Added support for patches of mushrooms or other herbs and flowers in outdoors levels. You can harvest these, and the yield quality will depend on your Crafting skill.
Quickslots
In the game there are a lot of "usable" items: potions, scrolls, etc. So far you can open the inventory, select one such item and click "Use" from a context menu. This is tedious, and allows cheesing if you have accumulated sacks worth of potions and consumables.
To add a bit more of a game feel, I've added support for quickslots: items in quickslots can be used, well, quickly, whereas items not in quickslots need extra time to be used. So, in the heat of battle, you might want to think again before rummaging into your inventory to use an item.
To make things more fun, quickslots are variable and can depend on a number of things (yet not decided) - from the character race that you choose, belts that you might wear, or even some passive powers you might somehow gain.
Example in video below
Badgers
And a bit of art - a badger, to annoy heroes in the wilderness!
That's all for now, until next time!
