addedThis is a big milestone for this project, and I hope many new players will discover the game and appreciate their time sailing and building cities in this cozy world. Thanks a lot to everyone who provided feedback, it helped me to improve things and shape the game into what it currently is, your support means a lot!
addedIs there more content compared to the Playtest? The Demo build will be basically the same as the last Playtest patch, with maybe some more bug fixes. So, if you played extensively the Playtest and have already seen all the new additions from last patch, there is nothing really new to see in the demo. Still, if you played the Playtest over several patches, you may have seen things unlocking immediately or even missed a few bits as the save auto updated to remain compatible. So it may be worth doing a fresh start with a new game to experience the intended progression.

Here is below a quick FAQ regarding the transition from Playtest to Demo.

When will the Playtest be deactivated?

I will take the Playtest down a few minutes before launching the demo, so you can play it until the last moment.

Is there more content compared to the Playtest?

The Demo build will be basically the same as the last Playtest patch, with maybe some more bug fixes. So, if you played extensively the Playtest and have already seen all the new additions from last patch, there is nothing really new to see in the demo. Still, if you played the Playtest over several patches, you may have seen things unlocking immediately or even missed a few bits as the save auto updated to remain compatible. So it may be worth doing a fresh start with a new game to experience the intended progression.

Is the Playtest progress transferred to the Demo?

Yes and no. The save files are entirely compatible. But the Demo will have the Steam cloud activated, while the Playtest had not. This means that you game data folder may get wiped out by Steam the first time when configuring the autocloud for the demo, and your progress may get reset. To avoid that, you can make a backup of your files.

Before installing the demo, at the path given below, grab all the files that start with [c]autosave[/c], plus [c]settings.tres[/c] and make a copy somewhere. After installing and launching the demo once, paste the files back there, and your saves should appear the next time you launch.

Windows: [c]%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Roaming/Shipolis/[/c]

Linux: [c]~/.local/share/Shipolis/[/c]
