Ship of Heroes has great player housing and superhero lairs! Most MMORPGs have some sort of housing system. If a game is a medieval fantasy, it can be easy for the devs to simply buy some assets and allow a player to put down a house, or take over a section of a dev-built castle. But what about in the future, aboard a prosperous nation-in-space generation ship? Well, we think luxury should be an option. And in the future, nothing screams out “luxury” like beautiful spaces and decorating, plus atavistic features not expected aboard a spaceship like fireplaces, pets, and those oh-so-expensive artifacts from old earth called “books.”
We’re starting out with ten initial housing models. Some of you will recall that we have previously conducted two open beta tests of our housing system. As a result of those betas we have fixed all known bugs and we’re giving you a bunch of options so that your hero-home aboard the F.H.S. Justice can be completely unique and different compared to every other residence. And feel free to invite your friends to jump into your virtual home and look around. We plan to add supergroup bases after launch, so we can collect thoughts and ideas from the community before we settle on a plan for team locations, but the supergroup bases will be more team and combat-focused than housing. One thing we are considering is allowing your safe personal housing space to have a portal to your supergroup space, which we think would be cool.
Come see what we’ve built after launch on August 18th. It’s different than most other games. We think you’re going to like it.
Can I have more than one base?
Each character can have one of each of the 10 floor plans. For 10 character slots, that is 100 housing units, enough to become a real estate mogul.
How much does it cost? Do I have to pay extra if I want more than one home?
All housing is included in the monthly subscription. The rent paid in in-game currency is modest and so are the prices of most items.
What happens to my house if I forget to pay the rent?
Rent does not renew automatically. If you forget to pay, you can just start paying again to gain access. You do not have to catch up on the missed months.
What do the spaces look like?
You can see empty spaces before renting them by selecting the Default Preview option. This option is good for gauging the size and layout of spaces. We anticipate that these empty windowless spaces will not scream “Rent me!”. To provide inspiration, the video shows a selection of furnished spaces, some of which can be visited in game.
Studio in preview versus decorated. Slide to see the pictures.
If you visit one of the spaces open to viewing, hovering over objects will show you their name, in case you want to acquire them for your own space.
What’s that? Find out by hovering over the item.
What if I change my mind on the floor plan I picked?
No problem. Return the furnishings you had in the home to your inventory and stop paying rent on this unit. That’s it.
What if I don’t like the layouts offered?
No problem. A variety of architectural elements can be added to reshape your space: partitions, glass walls, section of flooring, stairs….
Wall partitions can be edited like any other furnishing
