addedHello EveryoneOnly 11 days until Shards of Order releases, but we’re still hard at work improving and fixing things to make the game as enjoyable as possible. It's mostly bugfixes, but we’re also adding content, changing sidequests around, improving wording, and all that good stuff, which makes the game a much more seamless experience.
changedShards Of Order In ActionA large portion of our week was filled with us watching influencers, streamers, and reviewers having a go at our game, all the while noting down and fixing whatever we noticed could still be improved. It was a very reassuring experience because… well… They really enjoyed their time while playing our game! This was especially nice because we didn’t launch any sponsorships or stuff like that; we simply sent people keys and gifts and told them just to do and say whatever they felt like.
fixedShards Of Order In ActionAside from just feeling nice, it also gave us a boost of confidence in the game's technical state. While there were some bugs, none of them were too serious, and all could be fixed rather quickly. The game runs smoothly on different gaming setups, and we couldn't be happier with it. Here are some videos of some of them having a good ol time (but you should beware of spoilers):

Hello Everyone

Only 11 days until Shards of Order releases, but we’re still hard at work improving and fixing things to make the game as enjoyable as possible. It's mostly bugfixes, but we’re also adding content, changing sidequests around, improving wording, and all that good stuff, which makes the game a much more seamless experience.

Shards Of Order In Action

A large portion of our week was filled with us watching influencers, streamers, and reviewers having a go at our game, all the while noting down and fixing whatever we noticed could still be improved. It was a very reassuring experience because… well… They really enjoyed their time while playing our game! This was especially nice because we didn’t launch any sponsorships or stuff like that; we simply sent people keys and gifts and told them just to do and say whatever they felt like.

Aside from just feeling nice, it also gave us a boost of confidence in the game's technical state. While there were some bugs, none of them were too serious, and all could be fixed rather quickly. The game runs smoothly on different gaming setups, and we couldn't be happier with it. Here are some videos of some of them having a good ol time (but you should beware of spoilers):

Portraits

We also finally had time to implement a feature we’ve been aching to have but just haven't had the time. Conversation portraits!

No longer will you have to use your imagination to visualize our NPCs; every one of them will receive a custom portrait, which will change during dialogues depending on who’s currently talking during a conversation. It’s a small addition, but we hope it will help you immerse yourself in the story and make it easier to follow.

Here's how that looks:

Below, we attach some of our artists' favorite portraits:

Languages

There have been some questions about available language options for Shards of Order, so officially, here’s a list of languages that will be available on release day: English, German, French, Chinese Simplified, and Polish.

We hope to add more languages post-release. We will inform you about new options when and if they arrive.

Q&A

It's been a while, but someone asked a question on our Q&A form (link at the bottom of the post).

Someone asked, “Are you planning in any way to add co op to your game because this seems like a game me and my friends would play?”

No, we’re not planning on releasing a co-op mode for Shards Of Order; it's a big technical undertaking and would make this game significantly more complicated to develop. It’s not something that our small team can handle currently.

Wrap up

That’s all for now, folks. We go back to work. Have a great one!

Stay safe! Fardust team
