addedCrafting SystemThe craftables will include things like healing bells, different potions that will help us during our battles, quest items, upgraded weapons and armor. All of this adds another layer of progression, and it feels natural, it makes sense for the characters in the game to use whatever they can get their hands on to increase their chances of survival.
changedSand StormWe created this cool sandstorm arena. We initially created it, because we thought it would look cool, but we quickly realized that it would be cool to integrate it into the mechanics of the battle. Like for example, every x amount of cooldown the arena will deal 1 dmg to all heroes unless they have an amulet that protects them.
changedSand StormThis idea will eventually lead to other weather events, like ash fall and rain, but that's for the future. Either way, when we make more, you can bet we’re gonna show it off.
addedScholar Survey ResultsNow, as we mentioned before this is probably not his final version either. We will use your feedback and what we learned to make a new version of him that will hopefully sit right with most of you. We can’t make everyone happy, but we sure as hell don't want to make everyone angry either!

Hello Everyone (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ

Welcome to 2026, let's hope it treats us all well, with all the shenanigans going on around the world, that's about all us mortals can do. Whatever happens, It's time for us to get back into the flow, and start making cool shit. This time we’re here to show off some mechanics that were already teased in our previous posts in greater detail. Let's get started.

Crafting System

We teased the crafting system in a recent post, where we said that we would decide whether to go with it or not, well we decided. We’ve implemented a basic crafting system that allows the player to learn recipes and create different useful things.

The craftables will include things like healing bells, different potions that will help us during our battles, quest items, upgraded weapons and armor. All of this adds another layer of progression, and it feels natural, it makes sense for the characters in the game to use whatever they can get their hands on to increase their chances of survival.

Sand Storm

We created this cool sandstorm arena. We initially created it, because we thought it would look cool, but we quickly realized that it would be cool to integrate it into the mechanics of the battle. Like for example, every x amount of cooldown the arena will deal 1 dmg to all heroes unless they have an amulet that protects them.

This idea will eventually lead to other weather events, like ash fall and rain, but that's for the future. Either way, when we make more, you can bet we’re gonna show it off.

Scholar Survey Results

So, around 40 people shared their feedback on the Scholar and general character design and it wasn't that surprising to us when the newly designed scholar from previous posts did not receive a single vote. You clearly want the scholar to appear more human than monster, and that's fine with us. By far the most popular design was design nr. 2.

Now, as we mentioned before this is probably not his final version either. We will use your feedback and what we learned to make a new version of him that will hopefully sit right with most of you. We can’t make everyone happy, but we sure as hell don't want to make everyone angry either!

Wrap up

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the character's design, your feedback was very deliberate and some of you conveyed your feelings very clearly to us. We’ll do our best to make it right with you.

The next couple of months are going to be intense. As we mentioned in one of our previous posts, we plan to finish writing the main story of the game by the end of march. We still think it's possible, but we have a lot of work ahead of us. Regardless of the amount of work we’ll try to keep these updates going every week as usual, until next time.

Stay safe! Fardust team
