1.0.3 just released, and another patch means another set of patch notes for Shadowveil: Legend of the Five Rings, so let's dive in. This patch includes some of the first of QoL changes that are highly requested by the community, more to come! Special thanks to the players in the Shadowveil Discord and the players on the Shadowveil Steam Forum for continuing to report and help track down issues. The Crab Clan appreciates your efforts!
Known Issues
We are still verifying why some missions fail to reward the player properly or cannot be redeemed, if this happens to you, please send your save file on discord
There is still rare random crashes in battles or loading save files, as above please report it on discord
Resolutions with 16:10 or other less common aspect ratios may have issues with the UI
Achievements for some don't trigger correctly, we have a potential solution in a upcoming patch

Added QoL: Speed from each combat is now kept
Added QoL: Save backups can now be accessed in main menu, and now also keeps the last 3 combats as well as the last 3 watchtower saves

Optimization
This is the fourth optimization package that touches on many areas of the game, our tech and art wizards have in some areas and settings lowered required RAM and VRAM significantly. We are currently in a much better state than we were 2 weeks ago, but we aren’t done yet! We have also added a large package of extra graphics settings to make it possible for you to customize them for max performance!
Added and reworked over 10 new graphic settings
Tweaked Skylight settings on all lighting scenarios to match each other (Removed Realtime sampling)
Relit Cave scenarios to be more representative of a indoor scenario
Tweaked several lighting scenarios to remove unwanted visuals artefacts
Optimized refresh of inventory when you have many cards
Updates
- BalanceSlightly adjusted attributes to hit diminishing return earlier
Balance: Enemies gain slightly more HP per chapter
Updated so nezumi favor should only give 1 PC
Updated so game can now be launched with Vulkan
Updated a number of materials to avoid flickering
Updated so enemy hover now shows DEF and their abilities directly
Removed collision on all static objects in all loadouts to make sure tile, hoverselctions etc are no longer blocked for the player
Swapped order of Active Duties and Diplomatic Advancements

Slower creeping-taint and extra healing to sibling with Wallkeepers promise

Fixed potential softlock in chapter 2 boss fights

Fixed softlock when pausing just when killing last enemy

Fixed issue where narrative barks could break if you played through them fast enough (for example killing a boss “too” quick)
Fixed a crash when going back to the main menu while a sibling is ordering a unit
Fixed Opening inventory during reward flow and then closing permanently hides important UI
Fixed Opening inventory at wrong times will no longer permanently disable important UI
Fixed potential softlock where Fog of War in worldmap did not update

Fixed so beating Gragokku in run 9 now also triggers Goblin Skull Bounties diplomatic advancement

Fixed “Unlock additional duty slot” upgrade now consumes the relics properly on purchase
