Launch Day is upon us, and we'd like to share the list of changes and fixes we've implemented for the full version of Shadowveil. A shoutout to the Discord community and the players on the Shadowveil Steam Forum who has helped nail down some of the issues during the duration of the demo. The Crab Clan commends you!
PSA Regarding the Demo
The save system has changed between the demo and the full version, which means that demo saves will no longer be playable in the full game.
You can still enjoy the standalone demo for a bit longer, as it has been received very positively. However as our focus will transition to the full game, the demo will NOT be updated for a while. There are known issues, performance issues and crashes with the demo that is fixed in the full game (again shoutout to the Discord community and the players on the Shadowveil Steam Forum), which we want to implement in the demo eventually!

Added the full game, defeat the evil forces of the Shadowlands and make the Crab Clan proud!
Added full localization (text only) for French, Italian, German, Spanish(Spain), Portuguese(Brazil) and Simplified Chinese
Added new music to camp
Optimization
This is the first optimization package for the game, while there is work still to be done, this will lower usage of RAM and VRAM significantly, improving performance but most importantly eliminating a majority of crashes reported during the demo.
Enabled LODs for most objects in-game
Optimized the most commonly used shaders to be more performant
Optimized texture sizes for nonvirtual textures
Optimized textures and shaders for streaming
Improved performance with low and medium global illumination settings. This should lessen the abnormal GPU usage for some GPUs
Updates
Balance changes to entire game to reflect learnings from the demo and playtesting
Updated difficulty scaling and rebalanced enemies to follow that scaling
Updated shrine visuals
Updated multiple environments and lighting scenarios
Updated various card hovers that did not autoscroll
Updated how long it takes for the Creeping Taint to start corrupting your characters
Updated character bar to always show when opening inventory
Updated multiphase bosses to showcase the phase's name
Updated how scrollbar works in barracks
Updated the challenge “Bad to Worse” to include all levels when calculating reward
Updated hitboxes for deployables to be more lenient
Bosses now look at the sibling when talking rather than talking to the great void
Updated drag’n’drop system to enable switching of basic attacks between units
Radial/orders menu is now more consistent and less janky
Level-up buttons now include tooltips
Updated level-up class icon to stand out more
Diplomatic advancements that unlock classes now correctly state that a unit is unlocked as well
Unlocking a new unit now gives a notification
Yasuki Nobitsugu
now has his signature mastery
Critical Fixes (Crashes/softlocks)
Fixed issues with boss “2” that could incorrectly lead to a state where victory/loss screen was shown and softlocked the player
Fixed an issue where boss “2” incorrectly disallowed the player from drag'n’dropping units
Fixed an issue with boss “2” giving incorrect rewards, leading to a crash
Fixed a crash that could happen if you reloaded a save during specific dialogues
Fixed a crash related to Madōshi debuffs
Fixed an issue where the player could softlock itself while opening the inventory before combat
Fixed an issue where combat would be able to be softlocked when using combat pause
Fixed a crash when loading into combat against the
Oni Lord
Fixed a crash related to
the Shadowveil
Fixed an issue that could lead to random crashes during boss fights
Fixed an issue regarding abilities that could lead to crashes during boss fights
Fixed an issue where a material would load incorrectly, presenting a black screen that softlocked the game
Fixed potential softlock in specific circumstances when going from an item pick into an ability pick

Clan blessings are now properly saved between runs
Fixed issue where card pick vfx would flicker
Fixed issues with tutorial popups spawning in strange places (again)
You can no longer click widgets through the codex
Fixed an issue with materials looking weird with the new optimization
Fixed an issue where the blessing “Hiruma Maps” didn’t visualize the map properly
Fixed an issue with events playing incorrect sounds
Fixed an issue where ability slots granted by certain boons wouldn’t save/load properly
Fixed an issue where the map UI didn’t respect elite units. How rude!
Fixed issues where missions could not be completed because of reference issues
Fixed so that samurai base attack can actually be awarded properly
Fixed the issue where Sukune thought he had O-Ushi’s voice for some reason
Fixed issues with some levels having incorrect collisions
Fixed issues concerning healthbars when dialogue was playing
Fixed an issue where elite combats no longer spawned
Fixed an issue that was causing the boost tiles to become hard to read.
Fixed issue where reward header could overlap the inventory
Fixed an issue with the event “Ancient temple” (again)
Fixed an issue where the game thought there were rewards when there weren’t
Fixed an issue where the event Sinkholes could kill dead units
Fixed an issue with smokescreen and the
Oni Lord
You can no longer kill a unit by unequipping an item that gives health
The start combat tutorial pop-up is no longer present in the inventory
Fixed an issue where dropping one unit on another unit would leave them in a limbo deploy state
Fixed an empty keyword that made it look like the ability Bind spirit had other keywords
Fixed an issue where loading into a mission map didn't fade to black correctly
Fixed the issue where the option screen took a longer time to load
Fixed an issue where Sunlit Teardrop could be bought multiple times (again)
Pendants now show up in the card viewer
Fixed an issue where the corruption of the Shadowlands would possess corpses and rotate them
Removed footstep sounds from events and camps (again)
Fixed various issues with challenges triggering incorrectly
Fixed various issues with achievements triggering incorrectly
Fixed various issues with cameras during cutscenes
Fixed various issues with diplomatic advancements that did not apply correctly
Fixed an issue where autodeploy deployed more units than there were available tiles
Fixed an issue with tacticians changing textures after casting shield abilities
Various fixes to text and textboxes to accommodate localization
Various audio fixes
Various lighting and environment fixes
Various UI assets have been updated to match the rest of the game
Various UI fixes to increase readability
Removed unnecessary mention of the Otter Clan
Known issues
Certain words and unicode characters are displayed incorrectly in certain languages
Graphical options for effects does not lower GPU usage in the way that is expected
Late game performance with many characters might deteriorate, this is targeted to be fixed in the next patch
