Serpent Rising changes
Early playtesting has begun!
And it's also time for another faction reveal - this time we'll talk about the Orchs faction!
The Orchs originate from an experimental government program for genetically altered super soldiers, long kept a secret, but deployed officially during the desperate last stages of the war, shortly before the nuclear blasts began. Recognizable by their sharp predatory teeth, they're formidable fighters, but quickly deserted after their deployment, as the radioactive fallout and general devastation made the war end, only to be replaced by a brutal struggle for scarce remaining resources.
Being mostly male, these individuals quickly formed packs and started kidnapping females from other tribes to secure their survival as a tribe, and raided aggressively to get access to crops grown by others. Early on, this led to the establishment of a culture of intermixing heavily with any and all other tribes.
Poorly trained in agriculture, and fairly successful at obtaining what they needed by theft, they have remained poor at growing food, and often devastate any foraging sources in nature. For this reason, they were soon nicknamed Orchs - a fitting name also when considering their speed, strength, sharp teeth and general brutality. They didn't object to the name - but soon started to use it to describe themselves.
Orchs leave trails of burnt and scorched land wherever they go, making them poor at hiding their intents and presence as they explore, but they often make up for it by their strength in melee combat.
