Sensual Adventures - Treasure Island changes
In today's update, we will show you a bit of Tech insights for a couple of things
Map & Tracking
In the video, you can first see that we have discoverable Locations, and once you get close enough, you get more info.
The next part is Areas of interest with dynamic Tracking of Quest-Objects (in that case, deer)
We have to manually activate the tracking because this is a side quest, so it doesn't auto-track, and we are developing the part of selecting tracked quest normal behaviour.
There's a zone showing the area of deer, and then upon approaching there's a proximity detection of the deer, and then the compass also lights up once you're in the zone with a coloured overlay. There are different types of zones that can be defined.
Right now there's:
exploration = golden
gathering = green
danger = red
"Navmesh" for 3D Navigation for Enemies
SVO is a one-time voxel description of the collision level. It creates smaller voxels only where needed, so big empty space is very cheap, hence the "sparse" term in the algo name. Then we traverse those voxel nodes using the LazyTheta algorithm, which has the best both theoretical and benchmarked performance for 3D pathfinding.
High-Heels proof of concept:
We are currently developing a modular system for High-Heels. For now, it´s only on a test-character (and looks weird) as proof of concept. We will have a Video with Brittany probably next week. And the tech will definitely make it into the game soon and we will finally have High-Heels back!
Alright, that´s it for this week!
We hope you enjoy the update! We hope that you are as excited as we are for the new Features in the Game! As you can see, we are constantly pushing the limits and not only adding content but also a lot of under-the-hood quality-of-life improvements.
All the very best, PM & Team
