[Transmission Start]

Hey everyone. Quick update from the depths. I’ve got important news about the release, upcoming plans, and what’s next for Seclusion. Let’s break it down.

Release Date & New Trailer

April 13, 2025. mark it down, carve it into the walls if you have to. Seclusion is launching, and soon, you’ll be able to explore its depths for yourself. Alongside this report, I’m gonna be transmitting a new trailer in a few days, so keep your eyes open.

I originally aimed for March, but I need to step away for work next month, which means I won’t be able to focus on development. Rather than rush things, I’m taking the extra time to make sure everything is polished and ready to go.

I should probably update the demo too… yeah, I’ll get to that... One day...

Story mode progress

The Prologue & Chapter 1 are almost done and about to enter testing. I still have the rest of this month to finalize, test, and polish everything, so it’ll be fully prepped before I step away in March.

Chapter 1 – "Affliction" :

  • 3 Levels

  • 1.5 - 2 hours of playtime (if you don't sprint through while staring at the floor like a maniac)

  • Cool Color-based puzzles, object finding, platforming, exploration and environmental storytelling

  • 7 Different Entities waiting in the dark (or not)

  • Some really cool scenes i can't wait for you to experience

Explorer Mode

Explorer Mode went dark for a bit after the playtest, but once March is over and I return, I’ll focus fully on Explorer Mode to ensure everything is in top shape for launch and if anything slips through, I’ll be rolling out fixes as fast as I can.

A Quick Word About Expectations

One thing i know, wrong expectations often kill a lot of games, so before you step in, i need to make something clear.

Even though Seclusion is heavily inspired by the Backrooms, this isn’t really a "Backrooms Game" in the traditional sense. If that’s what you’re looking for, Explorer Mode is probably where you’ll feel most at home. But the Story Mode will be a bit different. The concept, the atmosphere, the sense of being lost in something bigger than yourself, those elements are here. But the lore, the world, the way it all connects is different. Seclusion takes inspiration, but it tries to forge its own path.

The game actually tries to go for its own thing and I hope you’ll enjoy what it has to offer.

Localization – Expanding the Signal

At launch, translations will probably be bad for some languages, so if some people are interested in helping translate the game to their native language, i'll probably set up a crowdin project so everyone who want's to help can.

Future Plans - What comes next ?

Like I’ve said before this is just the beginning. At some point during Early Access, I 100% plan to add mod support, but that’ll come later, once Story Mode is in a solid place.

  • In-game level editor → Create custom stories, co-op maps, and Explorer Mode map packs

  • Steam Workshop integration → Share & download community-made content

  • More ideas than I can count → There’s so much I want to add to this game, and I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.

Final thoughts - The last steps

Like i said, i'm not sure if Field Reports (devlogs) will continue after Early Access launches, guess that depends on if people want to keep seeing them. Let me know what you think. For now, though? We’re almost there. This journey has been long, surreal, and exhausting but also incredible. Your support have kept me pushing forward, and I can’t wait to see you all step into this world for real.

Seriously we're already 100 members on the discord and the game hasn't even launched yet lol, thank you very much !

I'll upload some sneak peek screenshots on discord as always

See you soon… in between the walls.
