Hello everybody and good evening!

changedWe're here today to make a HUGE announcement regarding further development of the game. As you guys know, we've been thinking of completely remaking the entire game again in Unreal 5. We've already talked about this in our devlog video from a few weeks ago , so go watch it if you haven't. But to sum up, basically we were thinking of remaking the whole game because we just didn't like how it was going, most of it was pretty "janky"/"bad"/"unprofessional"/etc. It was pretty "bad" and the code was all written poorly and most of it was from assets we bought and the assets we did make were bad and overall the game was pretty bad and janky, but we knew that we could make something good. We knew we can really make something that competes with modern SCP games on steam, we knew we can really make something good if we tried our best. So that's why we were thinking of remaking the whole thing, cause we knew we can actually make something really good, and we figured it'd be better if we just remake the whole thing entirely, this time using our new found knowledge and skills to make the game as good as we can. So, remaking the whole thing, this time making as good as we can. Pretty neat idea! But not only that, we were also thinking of doing it in UNREAL ENGINE 5! Once again, mentioned it in the devlog, but summing it up, It's better than the version of unreal we were using previously.
addedSo far, in this post, I was using the words "we WERE thinking of blah blah blah", but thing is, it's not " WERE " anymore, but " ARE ". Yes! WE ARE OFFICIALLY GOING TO REMAKE THE GAME IN UE5! Now, I know that we already had A LOT of exciting stuff done and we had like 90% of the new update done, and honestly it actually had some stuff that you guys would've really liked! It actually had a lot pretty good and exciting stuff done that I know you guys would've enjoyed, and I'm pretty sad to know that we're gonna just dump it away cuz there actually was A LOT of pretty good and exciting stuff! So It's a shame you guys won't get to see it.. HOWEVER, I'm sure the remake will be worth it! I'm sure of it! Sure, we might've dumped a lot of great stuff, but we will make much more and better stuff in the remake, so trust me, it's gonna be worth it!
removedAnd one more thing, Horror Engine . It caused A LOT, and when I say A LOT, I mean A LOT, of controversy regarding our game. For those who don't know Horror Engine is a big and popular free Unreal Engine Marketplace asset which basically gives you a whole bunch of premade code and assets that a lot of Unreal developers use. It's basically an entire game template that basically does all the code for you and it's extremely recognizable. You can find it here . So, I guess you can see why that would cause some problems, a widely used free asset from the marketplace that does all the coding for you. Yeah, I think you can see why people hated on us for using it lol. It caused a lot of hate towards the game and It's part of the reason we want to remake the game. We want to completely scrap Horror Engine from our game and make our own codebase, and I think you already know why judging by what I explained so far. So, it's official, not only will we be remaking the whole game in Unreal 5, but we will also remove HE and make our own codebase. Huge glow up imo. It's gonna be pretty hard making our own codebase and not using HE, but we will try our best for you guys!
