It's been a very busy couple of weeks, adding numerous new puzzles and maps to RuneSage. The latest release combines these with significant improvements in performance, better graphical and audio effects, and various small tweaks to improve immersion and the flow of the game. The full list of changes since V0.21.0 is as follows.

  • Added new map mechanic.

  • Added more maps to find.

  • Added more puzzles to solve.

  • Added more in-game help from NPCs.

  • Added destructable walls.

  • Added magic effects to treasure chests.

  • Added sound effect when viewing a map for the first time.

  • Added eight new achievements.

  • Improved layout of mages village.

  • Improved layout of the windswept hilltop.

  • Improved layout of the inland lake.

  • Improved layout of the castle courtyard.

  • Improved performance in the castle cellars.

  • Improved performance of spell effects.

  • Improved performance of mage graphics.

  • Improved levitation spell to make it easier for touchpad locomotion users.

  • Improved fire spell.

  • Improved scroll texts.

  • Improved bird AI.

  • Improved appearance of maps when viewed from behind.

  • Fixed bug with hidden pathways being highlighted after opening.

  • Fixed bug with camera judder when picking up maps.

  • Fixed bug with music sometimes not transitioning between areas.

Please note that although save games from previous versions are fully compatible with this latest release, the addition of several new maps to find will mean that you will need to go back to previously visited areas to discover them all to get 100% completion. RuneSage is now almost complete. I am expecting that there will now only be one or two more releases before the game exits Early Access, and is ready for a full release. Please do keep sending your suggestions and feedback (to feedback@runesage.com - or post on the Steam forum), as every comment is really appreciated and helps make the game better.
