addedI recently had a playtest session at a local event, where I had the chance to see with my own eyes how completely new players interact with the game. The poor communication has been one of the biggest issues of the game, but all my previous playtesters were already familiar with the game, so testing the onboarding has been a challenge.
addedIn this update, I tried to fix those issues. Here is the list of changes: - A second guide has been introduced. You can open it by pressing J (remappable), anc will show you information about how you can play the game. It will update automatically whenever a new tutorial is completed. - A puzzle tutorial has been introduced. It explains how panels work, and how to activate them to open doors - A drawing tutorial has been introduced. It explains how to cast spells - Some assets were changed to improve user experience - Added a one-time use spell slot. This is not necessary in the demo, but I added it to show that it's available in the full game. - Updated physics for the Wind Grasp spell.

The poor communication has been one of the biggest issues of the game, but all my previous playtesters were already familiar with the game, so testing the onboarding has been a challenge.

I realized that most players had absolutely no clue what the game wanted them to do, so I had to guide them through the very first level before they could enjoy the game. At the end of the day, I learned that it was a necessity to explain step-by-step what the player needs to do to overcome the very first puzzle, but they also need from the very start all the knowledge needed to finish the first level.

User experience was the second issue. Some interactions were unclear, with most players overlooking important details.

In this update, I tried to fix those issues. Here is the list of changes: - A second guide has been introduced. You can open it by pressing J (remappable), anc will show you information about how you can play the game. It will update automatically whenever a new tutorial is completed. - A puzzle tutorial has been introduced. That's all, have fun playing the demo!
