changed📢 This Week’s Briefing: "Closer Connections, Deeper Stories"Sponsorship System Revamp: Instead of "heavy" tiers that make you calculate the "value of the game," I have adjusted the tiers on Gameping so that anyone can support the project with a light and cheering heart.
changed📢 This Week’s Briefing: "Closer Connections, Deeper Stories"Utilizing My Specialty: Leveraging my background as a story writer, I am breathing life into every single item. From "DAB Ration Chocolate" to "Investigator Reports," please look forward to highly immersive flavor texts.
added📢 This Week’s Briefing: "Closer Connections, Deeper Stories"The March Toward the April Demo: I am fleshing out the build every day to meet our April milestone. It’s taking longer because I keep wanting to add more, but the world is becoming much more detailed and cohesive in return.
changed🔍 Changes in Operational ChannelsThis was the part I agonized over the most. Previously, the high-tier rewards included a "free copy of the finished game." While this was my promise to deliver the final product to supporters, I realized it eventually led to a rational calculation: "The game will probably cost around $20, so isn't it a loss to support this much every month?"\\
changed🔍 Changes in Operational ChannelsSupport should be about the warm heart of cheering for the development process itself, and I felt sorry that the system I created made people calculate the price. Therefore, I am closing the highest tiers and focusing on "Light Support" tiers (starting from approx. $1). I hope you can become a reliable supporter of our team (well, just me!) with a light heart, like treating a friend to a cup of coffee, rather than weighing "profit and loss."
added🌱 Last Week’s Joy: Narrative Director Mode"Bad-Tasting" Supplies: I changed the plain 'SP Potion' to 'DAB Ration Chocolate.' I added a lore snippet saying, "The Bureau intentionally made it taste bad so that agents only eat it when absolutely necessary." This gave the item its own life.

📢 This Week’s Briefing: "Closer Connections, Deeper Stories"

  • Selection & Focus of Communication Channels: I am tentatively suspending Patreon activities. Instead, I plan to communicate more actively by focusing on platforms where I can meet you all more frequently.

🔍 Changes in Operational Channels

To be honest, last week I spent as much time worrying about "how to better promote the game and build healthy relationships with supporters" as I did on actual development.

  1. Closing Patreon Activities

I started Patreon with the ambition of introducing my game to global players. However, as a solo developer, getting noticed in that "red ocean" was incredibly difficult. Trying to recruit supporters without an established community started to weigh heavily on my mind. Therefore, I have decided to set the Patreon page to private. Instead of taking the long way around, I want to communicate consistently on platforms where people already interested in Rule the Dungeon are gathered.

  1. Adjusting Gameping Tiers: For "Support" rather than "Calculation"

This was the part I agonized over the most. Previously, the high-tier rewards included a "free copy of the finished game." While this was my promise to deliver the final product to supporters, I realized it eventually led to a rational calculation: "The game will probably cost around $20, so isn't it a loss to support this much every month?"\\

Support should be about the warm heart of cheering for the development process itself, and I felt sorry that the system I created made people calculate the price. 🌱 Last Week’s Joy: Narrative Director Mode

When I was stressed with operational worries, the thing that made me smile again was, as expected, creating "stories." My specialty back at game companies was being a story writer!

  • "Bad-Tasting" SuppliesI changed the plain 'SP Potion' to 'DAB Ration Chocolate.' I added a lore snippet saying, "The Bureau intentionally made it taste bad so that agents only eat it when absolutely necessary." This gave the item its own life.
  • Mental Power & Stress: By giving Hunters psychological metrics and linking them to combat, the game started to feel like a tense field operation rather than just a numbers game.

  • Investigator Reports: I am currently refining the quest system under the name "Investigator Reports" and filling it with content. It was a week where I truly fell in love with the joy of writing.
