changedSteam post image Hello World! Ruins of Endoth is scheduled for a 20th September Early Access release so I thought I would give you some details on the status of the game so far. First of all I can announce the price will be set at $9.99 which i think is a fair price for the couple of years I have taken to get this far. I can also say that from 20 - 30th September there will be a 40% discount on that price, which I hope will encourage more people to purchase the game and send me feedback (and bug reports!) to help shape the future of the game. The initial version will have most of the major systems that will be in the game, although some will be more feature complete than others. So without further ado, here's the breakdown:
addedCore Systems:Melee Combat (1-handed 'sword and board' style initially with multiple Swords, Axes, Maces, Warhammers and various shield types) Ranged Combat (Just Bows for now, plan to expand this) Core stats - STR, AGI, CON Core Vitals - HEALTH, STAMINA, MANA 5 upgradeable skills (These are currently Offensive and Defensive buffs that can be upgraded via skill points you acquire on leveling up. I plan to add more of these) Enemy Journal (track the enemies you have faced with a kill count for each and a total kills) Recall/Teleport (fast travel system) Card Powers (adds some magic style effects such as Shield, Pulse and Light) Contracts (randomised 'missions' in procedural environments. Currently consists of BOUNTY, TREASURE-HUNT and SIEGE-BREAK but will expand these over time) Crafting (Limited implementation right now with plans to expand considerably) Load/Save (limited saves)
changedLoot:Five Tiers - Common, Magic, Rare, Epic and Legendary Five Materials - Iron, Steel, Veronite, Mitholium and Endonium Weapon Types - Swords, Axes, Maces, Warhammers and Bows Armour Types - Helmet, Chest, Legs, Boots, Gloves Other Types - Rings, Cloaks, Cards, Potions
addedEnemies:16 enemy types - Each with 'Soldier', 'Champion' and 'Boss' types. See screenshot below. Will add more over time Melee and Ranged enemies - Some archer variants (will add more) and magic users, plus fire breathing enemies!
addedRoadmap:After the initial EA release is when the fun really starts! I plan to make a Roadmap detailing current development tasks being worked on and any future systems or content I plan to add. This will of course be subject to review and changes based on customer feedback and requests. I want to make the game for the players to enjoy obviously so it makes sense to listen to you and adjust my incoming features based on this. Here's a few things I will be adding regardless:
changedRoadmap:Trials - I am 70% done with this mode. It is a scenario where the challenge comes in waves, with rewards between waves, leading to a fight with an Uber Boss!

Core Systems:

Melee Combat (1-handed 'sword and board' style initially with multiple Swords, Axes, Maces, Warhammers and various shield types) Ranged Combat (Just Bows for now, plan to expand this) Core stats - STR, AGI, CON Core Vitals - HEALTH, STAMINA, MANA 5 upgradeable skills (These are currently Offensive and Defensive buffs that can be upgraded via skill points you acquire on leveling up. Loot:

Five Tiers - Common, Magic, Rare, Epic and Legendary Five Materials - Iron, Steel, Veronite, Mitholium and Endonium Weapon Types - Swords, Axes, Maces, Warhammers and Bows Armour Types - Helmet, Chest, Legs, Boots, Gloves Other Types - Rings, Cloaks, Cards, Potions

Enemies:

16 enemy types - Each with 'Soldier', 'Champion' and 'Boss' types. See screenshot below. Will add more over time Melee and Ranged enemies - Some archer variants (will add more) and magic users, plus fire breathing enemies!

Roadmap:

After the initial EA release is when the fun really starts!

  • More contract types - Rescue, Raid and Defend

  • Trials - I am 70% done with this mode. It is a scenario where the challenge comes in waves, with rewards between waves, leading to a fight with an Uber Boss!

  • More item types

  • More enemy types and variants

  • More Tiers/Sub-Tiers of loot

There will of course be BUGS to fix as a priority on release too.

I really look forward to speaking with you and hearing your feedback on what I've created. Now I just have to get the game build approved by Steam ready for 20th September! Cheers, KLG
