Repeated intro

Hello Everyone! Here's update about what was done in past month on the game.

The Eye

First and foremost, as thumbnail of this post suggests, I added a bit of personality to the actor. Even if game's plot is inside abstract world, I wanted to make main protagonist bit more adorable than just "blue stick", but at the same time, I wanted to "keep it simple". Thus, I added one big eye to main protagonist, which do wink-wink time to time. Moreover, the eye is bit wobbly, it floats slightly on vertical speed change. I attached very subtle light to the eye, which also change intensity with winking. I hope, this will make main protagonist more attractive and more fun to play with. Also, actor is no more super-rigid block. On vertical speed gain, his body gets slightly thinner and longer, and it scales back to normal form when hitting the ground. Just small detail.

Steam post image The Editor

Apart from that, I was working on game's editor. It's done from scratch, my idea is to release it also publicly later, will see about that (old editor in which game was made was awkward and not very suitable for public release). I uploaded story of game's editor to my YouTube for anyone interested.

addedFull introduction: The game still doesn't have final trailer, but I did full introductory video, now with new actor. You can learn about all gameplay mechanics there and some technical info, plus you can see new actor in the movement. I uploaded the video directly to Steam page, so check it. Maybe I will remove it later from Steam (when final trailer will be done, and graphics will be updated), but it'll be still available on my YouTube channel. A bit from backstage (promoting the game): Apart from that, I was fighting with promoting the game. It's tedious work, especially for solo dev, I like coding way way more TBH. I made TikTok, YT Shorts, but later deleted it, despite the fact that I had views, likes and some wishlists, as dopamine spikes is really not my cup of coffee. I found myself less coding and more tempted to do "one more vertical video". In the end, I decided to rather sacrifice some wishlists, and invest more time to make game better. I will still do some promotion, but just in way, so it will not be detrimental to development itself, not giving into algorithms which are not so designed for discovery of your game but to keep you hooked. Btw, the game surpassed 100 wishlists, so hooray, I'm happy even for that. This is how I feel after reaching 100 wishlists: Steam post image
addedWhat's next: Priority number 1 is to do something with those empty backgrounds in levels, so I expect that with next post I will be able to bring some news regarding that. I'm non-artist, so I will try some programmatical FX. Hopefully, my coding skills will bring something really nice. Will see. Just reminder. There's Discord server for RTG. Not much to do there yet. There're some of my friends, I was visited by some bots and by one guy who wanted to sell me some YouTube channel boosting. But, I'm still there, ready to answer your eventual questions and on 10 members I will add #memes channel and on 100 members even #pets channel. ːsteammockingːSee you at next update.
