Thank you!
First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for wishlisting RTG. If narrative sci-fi puzzler is your cup of coffee, you'll not be disappointed. RTG state of development
First thing which I'd like to clarify is that game is practically done. What's being developed now is new internal editor for possible game's visual enhancements. Moreover, that editor can be possibly released publicly as well. Making such editor is not a small task, which is also main reason for my first Steam post delay. Anyway, from now on, I plan to inform you here about RTG development progress more often.
What can you expect from RTG
RTG is narrative sci-fi puzzle/platformer. It means, besides puzzles solving and some platforming sequences, there's deeper story behind which uncover itself as player progresses. Puzzles difficulty spans from "piece of cake" up to "very challenging". There will be players which will be able to beat the game and there will be players which will need to look into walkthrough.
From technical perspective, RTG is 2.5D. Rendering engine is 3D in nature but all game logic is 2D. Apropos rendering engine, it's something which is quite unusual even in indie landscape. Rendering is pure software ray-tracing, so scene is computed entirely on CPU. Thus no special graphics card is needed nor it will give you an edge. In other words, game will perform better on fast CPU with potato GPU than on slow CPU with RTX 5090. CPU matters here. But no worries with slower CPU. Game scales well with resolution, so at lower resolutions it will be playable on anything.
Apart from that, it's worth noting that RTG has controller support, and it will support Steam Cloud and Steam Achievements. Supported languages are English, Spanish and Slovak (my native language).
RTG in motion
I have yet to make RTG Steam trailer, but if you'd like to see more than just screenshots, feel free to check some animations from RTG development on my YouTube channel. VDIndie - YouTube
Preliminary demo
If watching RTG animations is not enough and you'd like something more, it's possible to try very early demo. I wanted more polished demo on Steam, that's why this very early demo is available now only on other platform. If you want to try it even in current early state, download it from itch.io. Demo will get you into story a bit and you can get feel of game's controls. Puzzles are quite easy in this demo, just an appetizer. RTG Early Demo - itch.io If you'd like to pass it, more polished demo with more levels will be released on Steam later. Stay tuned.
What's next
Naturally, I want to get the game into state in which I'll want to publish it. Besides, I will continue to work on editor, which is used for fore-mentioned visual tuning and which has potential to be published as well (if not with v1.0 then later). I expect it to be few months work. Besides of game tuning / editor development, there's question of Steam trailer, proper game webpage and preparing official Steam demo. I will try to report on progress more often now.
