It's been a while since our last update, so this post aims to shed some light on Rogue Masters' current situation and our plans for the future of the game.

As you might have noticed by now, development has slowed down for the past few months. The reason is simple: the game so far unfortunately didn't sell enough copies for us to be able to keep paying the team to work full-time on it.

In the meantime, we were also trying to reach out to possible investors so we could keep making the game, but none of the conversations went ahead in this regard, either.

We sat down to think about possible solutions to this conumdrum, and we decided on the following:

Rogue Masters will become free to play on December 1st, the date which marks one year of the game's release. There will be NO microtransactions addded, just the way it already is.

By doing this, our goal is to possibly attract more players to the game, since we know there are few active players right now. If enough people are interested in the game, we feel we can leverage this to show its value to potential investors (which we'll continue looking for) so we can keep developing the game to its completion as depicted in the roadmap, and even beyond that.

In fact, a few of them explicitly told us that, if the game has a bigger playerbase, they'd be interested in investing into it. So that led us to take this decision. So this doesn't mean we're abandoning the game, quite the opposite - we want to keep developing it, we just need the resources to do it.

We thank everyone who has supported us so far, and we ask for your support once more to share the news with people you think might want to give Rogue Masters a try now that it's going to become free to play.

See you next time.
