Let’s talk about being a TRUCKER. Not a truck. We’re putting a lot of effort into making you feel like you’re the person driving, not the vehicle itself. One of the ways we bring you closer to our world is PLAYER STATUSES.

You can get a negative or a positive status in many ways - negative ones being fun because they add to the challenge and, hopefully, make you play like you would really own a truck. They will also affect your many character stats, such as stamina or charm.

For example, if you hit an obstacle hard, you might get dizzy. It will last some time - you will see the counter - and will result in a chromatic aberration and motion blur, and also a sound cue. By the way, we use these effects how they should be used: to show that something’s wrong, not to just add more post-processes to the image.

Among the effects you might get, there are, to name a few, common cold (with dad sneezes that shake the screen and teary eyes effect), wounds, starvation, or tiredness. You can get them by, for example, sleeping on the ground, which isn’t very healthy, especially in bad weather. It’s much safer to just get a motel room.

Different statuses are cured in different ways, so you need to be prepared. By visiting stores and stocking up, you can have food or medicine for various occasions.
