Road Domination changes
We are happy to announce that native Linux build of Road Domination 2.0 is now available on Steam. We believe that adding support for Linux-based operating systems will allow more players to enjoy the game.
Is My OS Supported?
Linux kernel is open-source and it comes as part of a variety of Linux-based operating systems. Therefore, listing all supported Linux distributions and versions is next to impossible.
Road Domination 2.0 was built on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and it requires GLIBC 2.31 or later to run. In practice, most Linux distributions released after February 2020 should be compatible.
The best way to check whether your operating system is supported, is to check your GLIBC version, by opening terminal and running command:
[c]ldd --version[/c]
Troubleshooting
Roughly 90% of computers used for gaming run on Windows operating system. Graphics card vendors typically prioritise Direct3D API when optimising GPU drivers.
Since Direct3D is a proprietary API, and it is only officially supported on Windows. Road Domination uses Vulkan® API instead, when running on Linux-based operating systems.
If you are experiencing issues, first check if you have the latest version of graphics drivers installed. If yes, you may try downgrading the drivers to check if the issue occurs in older version. It is also a good idea to search the Internet for issues related to Vulkan API and your specific graphics card.
Linux® is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds in the U.S. and other countries.
Ubuntu is a registered trademark of Canonical Ltd.
Microsoft, Windows and Direct3D are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
Vulkan® is a registered trademark of The Khronos Group Inc.
