Hello, this is CafPain, the developer of Risk the Dark.

Risk the Dark changes
It has been about 9 months since the game was released, and I feel that I haven’t been able to properly share development news or future plans during that time. I’ve also received feedback about this, so I thought I should organize everything and share it, which is why I’m writing this post.
From here on, Risk the Dark will continue to be developed in the following direction.
Near-Term Updates (Target: April 2026)
Improvements to some combat effects
Partial skill reworks
Improvements to the usability/feel of the elemental system
Later Updates
Addition of Stage 4 (new areas and combat content)
Overall story improvements
Additional NPC interaction content
More variety in the farming system
Long-Term Goals
Addition of a companion system
Continued improvements to the combat system and overall game structure
Addition of new playable characters
Addition of Stage 5
New consumables and weapons
Game structure improvements (QoL)
If we divide it into big categories, this is how it looks.
Among these, the elemental system improvements may be pushed to later updates depending on development. I expect there will be a lot of trial and error.
Depending on my situation, things may change, but the near-term update is currently planned for release in April. Thank you very much for reading. If you have any questions or feel there’s something I missed, please feel free to let me know.
