We’re thrilled to bring you another major update! While the patch notes may appear brief, the impact of these changes cannot be overstated. Each fix addresses long-standing challenges in our own proudly (if a bit clumsily) homemade game engine.

This update focuses on tackling key technical and gameplay barriers that have been with us for years. With these improvements, we’re making huge strides in refining the core experience, ensuring smoother gameplay and greater immersion for all players.

Let’s dive into the highlights of this week's update:

REWORKED RESOLUTION

  • Fixed all the startup issues related to the game not getting the right resolution

  • Game now auto-detects max possible resolution on the first run and sets it

  • New resolution menu only shows several resolution options instead of 20+

  • Fixed major issue where some players would get very dark visuals in-game

  • Fixed major issue where players on top-tier hardware would get ultra-bright visuals in-game

UNIT TASKING

  • Unit tasking arrow now always shows when tasking battalions

  • Tasking arrow shows for just one battalion selected now, and only for players own battalions

  • Greatly improved behavior and coding behind the tasking arrow with instant response time

UNITS ON WALLS

  • All units now spawn correctly on the walls when reloading towns

  • Fixed all the issues with some units on the walls being on the ground

  • Fixed issue with some siege equipment, horse carts, or cavalry wrongly spawning on the walls

WALL PATHFINDING

  • Fixed some units getting stuck near walls and being unable to move

  • Fixed all the issues with units getting stuck on the walls

  • Fixed all issues with units getting stuck in large town battles

WALL MOUNTED SIEGE

  • Fixed a very long-standing bug with some wall-mounted siege weapons disappearing

  • Fixed common issue with some wall-mounted siege weapons appearing on the ground

  • Fixed common issue with wall-mounted siege weapons appearing in odd positions on reload

UNIT BEHAVIOR CHANGES

  • Changed archer behavior—they only shoot up now at targets far away

  • Improved various aspects of archers firing arrows

  • Fixed odd behavior for siege units and other units when around fire

  • Siege weapons will no longer randomly move with fire around them

TUTORIAL FINALIZED

  • Reworked the look of tutorial text notifications to be a lot less visible

  • Lots of other polish to the tutorial
