Leverage: Every Hack Is Now a Choice

For the last week I've been quietly rebuilding what happens when you complete a hack. The short version: it used to be "+N credits" and a sound effect but I've changed it so it's now a decision, and a story.

The Mechanic

Every hack you complete now extracts Leverage: a specific piece of corporate dirt on the target system:

"The exec bathroom code is the company's founding year because of course it is."

"A vote to be held on 'workforce optimization.' They didn't use 'human' once in the briefing."

"The prototype works but marketing told engineers to make it worse."

After each hack, you pick:

  • LEAK: sell the dirt to the web for quick credits

  • ARCHIVE: stash it in your Vault

Collect all 4 variants of a target system's dirt, and you complete a Dossier, which is a a permanent Case File bonus that survives prestige. Each one is a permanent edge on every future run.

  • Title screen: CRT/terminal-styled main menu with scanlines, code rain, blinking cursor header. Boots like your corporate workstation.

  • Hack reward redesigned: phosphor-cyan flavor text, Archive/Leak buttons, cleaner payoff moment.

  • First prestige compressed: faster onboarding into the meta layer.

  • Full Japanese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese localization for the entire Leverage system.
