🎮 How to Play Reign and Rumble via Steam Remote Play Together

Reign and Rumble supports Steam Remote Play Together, a free Steam feature that lets you play local multiplayer games online with your friends — as if you were on the same couch!

✅ What You Need

  • Reign and Rumble installed on the host's PC.

  • A Steam account for each player (free).

  • A stable internet connection (wired/Ethernet is recommended for the host).

  • A controller for every player (including the host).

  • Steam’s in-game overlay enabled.

🎮 Steps for the HOST (the player who owns the game)

  1. Launch Steam and log in to your account.

  2. [Important] Enable Steam Overlay (if not already enabled):

    • Go to Steam > Settings > In-Game.

    • Check “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game”.

    • Click OK to save.

  3. Plug in your controller (required to play).

  4. Launch Reign and Rumble.

  5. Once you're in the game menu, open the Steam overlay: → Press Shift + Tab on keyboard (or the Steam button on your controller).

  6. In your Friends List, right-click on a friend and select: 🎮 Remote Play Together

  7. Steam will send them an invitation. Once accepted, they will see your screen and join the game using their own controller.

👥 Steps for INVITED PLAYERS

  1. Accept the Steam invitation (from the popup or chat).

  2. Once connected, you'll see the host's game screen.

  3. Connect your controller (required).

  4. You’ll be able to control your character once the host gives you input access.

💡 The host can manage input permissions via the Steam overlay during the session.

🛠️ Tips & Troubleshooting

  • 🎮 If your controller isn’t working:

    • Go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings.

    • Make sure your controller type is detected and enabled.

    • Restart Steam if necessary.

  • 🌐 For a smoother connection:

    • The host should use a wired (Ethernet) connection.

    • Close other apps that consume bandwidth (YouTube, Discord video, downloads, etc.).

  • 🎤 Steam voice chat is enabled by default but can be turned off in the Remote Play settings.
