Hello, again! A short one this week for Reel Life – we’ll just be revisiting the experience system a little and talking about a couple new journal features.

We’ve implemented our initial experience system with today’s update that we think you’re really going to enjoy. Gain experience at certain slot machines or work benches for bonus effects that you choose (in the case of slot machines) or are given to you (in the case of benches).

We’ve adjusted the amount of experience per level a little (and are likely to adjust it again):

Level 1150
Level 2600
Level 31350
Level 42400
Level 53750
Level 65400
Level 77350
Level 89600
Level 912150
Level 1015000

You will need to collect the experience points listed per given level to advance. But how do you collect experience?

For slot machines, any normal match you make gets you experience points. A normal match wins you items, not tokens or free spins. Multiplier effects also count, so if you have one good fishing or mining slot machine going, you can rack up experience pretty quickly!

For the categories you can win experience in, here are the slot machines that are valid:

Farming – all planted crop slot machines, normal or orchard tree.

Ranching – all livestock slot machines

Foraging – all foraging slot machines – herbs, flowers, mushrooms, hunting, etc. – but NOT clay, wood, stone, or sand slot machines (those are in their own category)

Fishing – all fishing slot machines and tidal pool machines

Mining – all mining slot machines – gemstone, ores, quartz, etc. – but NOT stone material slot machines

With each level you advance, you get to choose a bonus gift to help make your gameplay easier! For slot machines, gifts range from extra spins to more rare wins to constant multipliers on normal wins to higher grade gems or higher size fish! You only have 10 chances to choose a gift, though, so choose carefully!

With the crafting benches – carpentry and cooking – earn experience from each item you craft. With each level you advance you’ll get a chance at craft two, three, or even four extra items on each craft completion!

We’d also like to briefly mention some journal additions that have been made. You can now keep track of all the cooking recipes you’ve found, all the fish you’ve caught (and the highest size per fish), and all the gemstones you’ve found (and the highest grade per mineral). In addition, we’ve added an experience tracker so that you can see which gifts you’ve chosen per slot machine type.

Welp, that’s it for today. Thanks as always for reading and we’ll see you in two weeks!
