fixedThis evening I completed the first every playtest of the game with myself and some friends. There had been previous tests to try out basic features on their own, but today was the actual first test with core gameplay mechanics in place and a relative lack of game-breaking issues. As expected there were some bugs, some worse than others, but these will be fixed up in the coming days and the game will be trialed once again to keep trying to find more.
addedFor now, no more playtesters will be let in yet. I want to iron out game-breaking bugs, after which I'll add in more game variety which is currently turned off for testing to only cover the core gameplay elements, after which the game will need MORE testing. After THAT point, once there aren't severe issues, I'll start letting in more testers. I want the playtest experience to be the game itself, I don't want part of the experience to be knowing what not to do because it breaks the game. You should be able to just play it.

I've been working on this project almost every day for the past 13 months, and in that time I've made essentially zero community-building effort, with all my game-focused time going toward making the game, but that's going to need to change in the coming weeks and months now that I actually have a basic playable product that people have access to.
