changedFeedback, Thoughts, and CommentsWhile there is still a lot that is in-progress even within some of the core gameplay elements, we need all of the feedback we can get while we work on the boss fights for each level and polish the overall experience of the game before releasing it as a public demo.
changedFeedback, Thoughts, and CommentsYou can find the link to the Atom Switch Community Discord server on the store page's side bar, or at the "More ways to connect" link at the bottom of this post.
changedIntro-Level ProgressWe've also been hard at work on the game's Intro Level, which acts as both a story lead-in and a general tutorial for many of the core gameplay elements.
changedIntro-Level ProgressOnce complete, it will end in a boss fight that teaches more of the combat mechanics. Until then, it will send you straight to the Wastelands level once you reach the upgrade station located in the boss room (which will display a few bits of dialog before triggering the level change).

Public Playtesting!

You may have seen it already, a happy little banner that has appeared on the Rebel Core Steam page:

Yes indeed, that means request-based playtest signups are now active for the game! As we continue to push forward to a 2-level demo release (Intro Level and Wastelands), I am now opening up playtesting to public request, which I will check regularly and approve in batches up until we hit a good measure of feedback activity.

Feedback, Thoughts, and Comments

Speaking of feedback, just about the biggest, best, and most important thing that folks could do for us with this expanded playtesting is share their thoughts, reactions, suggestions, bugs, and general feedback from their experience as you play this early build of the game.

While there is still a lot that is in-progress even within some of the core gameplay elements, we need all of the feedback we can get while we work on the boss fights for each level and polish the overall experience of the game before releasing it as a public demo.

And the best place to give that feedback is on Discord and right here on Steam! Those with playtest access can access the Steam Discussions board from the Community and/or Discussions links from the game's page in your Steam Library:

Or, you can access the discussions board directly here (this page will only work though if you're logged into Steam with an account that has playtest access).

You can find the link to the Atom Switch Community Discord server on the store page's side bar, or at the "More ways to connect" link at the bottom of this post.

Intro-Level Progress

We've also been hard at work on the game's Intro Level, which acts as both a story lead-in and a general tutorial for many of the core gameplay elements.

Once complete, it will end in a boss fight that teaches more of the combat mechanics. Until then, it will send you straight to the Wastelands level once you reach the upgrade station located in the boss room (which will display a few bits of dialog before triggering the level change).

As always, thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing everyone's feedback and reactions to the playtesting!!
