DIRECTIVE: EVALUATION PHASE COMPLETE
Directors, the Steam Next Fest evaluation period has officially concluded. Your performance on Kepler-442b has been recorded and analyzed. The Executive Board is highly satisfied with the results.
Hello everyone! Developer here. Jumping out of character for a moment, I want to say a massive thank you. The Next Fest was incredibly successful for Realindustry. The game grew from 1,380 to 2,337 wishlists! Finding over two thousand people who genuinely enjoy hardcore, interface-driven factory building is a dream come true for a solo developer.
As promised, here is the roadmap for the future development of Realindustry, ordered by priority:
The Development Roadmap
Bug Fixes & UI/UX Improvements. There is no limit to perfection. Polishing the interface and fixing bugs will always be the highest priority.
Japanese Localization. Currently, players from Japan make up our largest wishlist community – more than double the second place! This lack of localization is a misunderstanding I will fix as quickly as possible.
Community Translation Support. I will be open-sourcing the localization files so that players who want to help refine and improve the translations can easily do so.
Early Game Rework. Many players noted that the initial manual gathering phase feels a bit too slow. I am going to test and integrate a limited early-automation mechanic using "colonists" to help run initial buildings.
Highly Realistic Mode. I am actively working on a hyper-realistic mode. It is still to be determined if this will be ready for the initial 1.0 release.
Linux Support. While not the primary platform for our player base, native support for Linux will be added.
Content Creator Access. Opening up full version access for content creators and streamers ahead of the launch.
Pricing & Publishing. Finalizing the launch details for the full release.
A Note on Demo Reviews
If you have spent hours optimizing your production lines in the demo and enjoyed the depth of the game, please consider leaving an honest review on our Demo page. Realindustry is a highly niche project, and during the Next Fest, it generated a lot of divided opinions, especially regarding its presentation. Reviews from players who truly understand and enjoy core automation mechanics mean the world to me and help immensely with Steam visibility!
A Transparent Note on Game Assets
I also want to be fully transparent about the game's visual assets. I’ve seen the feedback regarding the graphics, and I’ve researched the possibility of completely replacing them with traditional 3D models. As a solo developer working with a $0 budget, completely reworking 500+ assets and animations is a monumental task that would delay the release by more than a year.
My main focus has always been creating deep, realistic chemical and industrial gameplay. However, I want the game to look its best. If there are any passionate 3D artists out there who love factory games and are interested in collaborating on this project for the full release, my doors are always open – feel free to reach out to me via Discord or email to discuss possibilities!
Thank you again for your incredible support.
