Raccoons to Riches changes
Hi everyone! Starting today until June 4th, Raccoons to Riches be participating the the Strategems festival here on Steam!
There are a bunch of cool small indie strategy games in this fest, so go take some time to try out a few demos and grab some small games on sale! Of course, you can check out the demo for Raccoons to Riches as part of the festival. Speaking of the demo, I've just wrapped up a little bit of a vacation followed by some in-person events at the Canadian Game Awards and Anime North where I was able to show the game to a bunch of cool folks who came by my little demo booth at those events. I had a pretty great time, and got to watch some people play through the demo. One of the cool things about doing that (aside from the fun award show/cosplay watching at the con) was seeing what's been quietly confusing about the game by watching people play the game in person, hovering over them like some kind of worried helicopter parent. So, as a result of that, and some nice feedback in the discord/steam discussion forums, I've cooked up a small patch to make stuff a bit more straightforward. Mostly just some UI changes to reduce the visual clutter during a Market Day, but also a few other nice changes like a Glossary in the Compendium.
Well, that's enough devloggin in what's just supposed to be some patch notes, so here are the full patch notes for demo v0.25.5. Notes with an * were suggested by the community!
Demo v0.25.5
---------
- ArtUpdated the art for the Cleric's Request Donation complication card
- Compendium *Added a Glossary to the Compendium for easy reference of keywords and common actions. (More will be added here as time goes on!)
Balance*: Buffed starting line size to 3 for all characters (You pretty much always wanted to just go and buy the 1st line size upgrade, so this'll punish people that don't realize that less)
- BalanceIncreased the cost of line size upgrades a bit
- UIRe-organized the action buttons in the market day to be less overwhelming/confusing for new players.
The Buy button is now directly attached to customers' Item for sale to prevent accidental item purchases. Also, it's been re-named to "Purchase" for clarity.
The Combine button (now renamed to Craft) now only appears when at least 2 cards are selected, and will replace the Play/Sell button.
The Play/Sell button now is more centered to the right of your Hand.
The Rummage button is now centered to the left of your hand.
The Restock button now only appears when it would be possible to Restock.
The For Sale tab on Customer cards now looks more like a button, and has been re-named to "Item Offer"
UI/Controller Support*: Cards in Hand now display the A/Confirm button when they're focused with a controller, to let you know you can press A/Confirm to select them
- TextUpdated the tooltip for Crafting items a bit
Text: Numerous clarifications/cleanups to standardize some wording, and some text colours
- TooltipsAdded some missing tooltips to a few customers, including referenced cards
- Bugfix*Fixed Conjure Merchandise conjuring only a debug card after using it multiple times in the same day
- Bugfix*Fixed the Brewer's Brainstorm action to no longer award business tactics you haven't unlocked yet
- BugfixFixed some events giving "unlocked" tactics as rewards in the demo build
- BugfixFixed the close calendar button appearing on the calendar if the calendar was still open when the day progressed
