Repeated intro

Hello, mercenaries! Today we are updating the Quasimorph beta branch. This update includes several major systems and notable changes: the Pact Department for the Magnum, a reworked trade shuttle, the new RealWare storyline, updates to fire, liquids, and gases, as well as a batch of fixes.

Important

Unstable Beta requires another wipe within the beta branch. We said last time that we would try to avoid it, but due to the scale of these changes, old beta saves will not be compatible with the new version.

One more reminder

the beta is called “Unstable” for a reason. Bugs, conflicts, and strange incidents of a corporate-demonic nature may occur. Play at your own risk.

Highlights

  • Added the Pact Department for the Magnum

  • Reworked the trade shuttle

  • Added the RealWare storyline with 2 endings and 7 new missions

  • Updated fire and liquid mechanics, added gases

  • Reworked the virtual floor of the "Beacon" mission

  • Fixed issues with thrown weapons, bramfaturas, barons, implants, and other systems

New

Added the Pact Department for the Magnum.

This new system allows you to exchange lower-tier pacts for higher-tier pacts. There is also a chance to obtain a pact that does not drop from a baron. A full tutorial message will be added later. For now, remember two rules:

  • Gavvakh incites Eon, Eon incites Shavva, Shavva incites Agga, Agga incites Siaira, Siaira incites Gavvakh.

  • Eon calms Siara, Siara calms Shavva, Shavva calms Gavvakh, Gavvakh calms Agga, Agga calms Eon.

Simple, like tax reporting in Hell.

Steam post image Reworked the trade shuttle.

The shuttle now sells any items. Items stations don't directly accept can still be sold, but at a reduced price. The trade shuttle now has three trading modes:

  • Barter, with the option to specify the desired item type for purchase

  • Selling items to increase reputation

  • Cargo delivery from proxy company stations

Added the RealWare storyline. A new storyline has been added to the game, featuring 2 endings and 7 new missions. For now, it is available only in English and Russian.

Steam post image Updated fire and liquid mechanics, added gases.

Environmental interactions have become noticeably richer. For example, try setting pools of poison on fire. It will be fun. For someone.

Known issue: the line of visibility is currently not affected by gases until the player moves or turns.

Reworked the virtual floor of the "Beacon" mission.

Frozen enemies now shatter into ice shards upon death.

Quasimorphic Data can now reduce the accumulated curse level.

Balance

  • In bramfatura Descent missions, quasimorphs will no longer immediately move toward the clone.

  • The Ritualism perk now triggers when using any quasimorphic consumables, not only when eating gavvakh.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where planets played music that did not match their bramfaturas.

  • Fixed Saturn’s rings flickering in some cases.

  • Fixed an issue where thrown weapons inherited the traits of the weapon held by the clone. Knives will no longer explode. At least not in that way.

  • Fixed an issue where thrown weapons always disappeared after colliding with a wall.

  • Fixed an issue where a full stack would drop on the floor after thrown ammunition collided with environmental objects.

  • Fixed an error when extracting augments and implants.

  • Fixed an issue where Descents into the Duggur bramfatura did not work.

  • Fixed an error when Baron of Gannix appeared.

  • Fixed incorrect prices for experience-granting goods.

  • Fixed an issue where Employee IDs had no icons.

  • Fixed an issue in the “Laughter of Tonatiuh” mission where Xiomara’s death did not fail the mission.

  • Fixed an issue where Auberon Lukas’s talent did not reduce explosion damage.

  • Fixed an issue where NPCs used some implants earlier than intended. Enemies will now get closer before using the Cortex Bomb.

How to access the beta

The beta is available in the corresponding section of the game’s Steam settings. We would be glad to hear your feedback in Discord, especially if you encounter errors, bugs, or suspiciously intelligent knives. Good hunting, mercenaries!
