changedThanks to your continuous feedback (and it’s been energizing to work our way through it!) from our initial launch early 2026, we have identified a core track to work on, and we are almost ready to deliver the changes to flesh out the core gameplay even more.
addedIn Contamination we are taking the Survivor Inspection Simulation to a whole new level. The infection evolves and with it, the Inspection Protocol and the Tools section is getting an expansion and a balance pass to make tool access more fluid and less confusing (and allow you to concentrate more on patching up your car and expanding your armory).
addedYou are going to get access to pincers to inspect ears and look for new signs of infection - work carefully to identify and correctly categorize new arrivals.
addedThe survivors arriving at your checkpoint are also up to no good. With more than 40 new survivors, some of them are going to try to sneak past you and cover up their signs of infection. Work carefully with your hands (that double as an all new melee combat system!) to uncover their tricks and cause minor stress and sweating to reveal signs of infection.
changedWith that, we have moved past AI content and revoiced the survivors authentically.
addedBut before that, before you run out of ammo in your guns, you will be able to try out the new shooting QTE mechanic to take out a number of incoming infected with cold efficiency (as a police officer with training should be able to do).

Hello, Checkpoint Operators!

Next month shall be exciting for the crew and those who follow us as we are finishing our work on our biggest update to Quarantine Zombie yet - Contamination.

Thanks to your continuous feedback (and it’s been energizing to work our way through it!) from our initial launch early 2026, we have identified a core track to work on, and we are almost ready to deliver the changes to flesh out the core gameplay even more.

The Infection Evolves

In Contamination we are taking the Survivor Inspection Simulation to a whole new level. The infection evolves and with it, the Inspection Protocol and the Tools section is getting an expansion and a balance pass to make tool access more fluid and less confusing (and allow you to concentrate more on patching up your car and expanding your armory).

You are going to get access to pincers to inspect ears and look for new signs of infection - work carefully to identify and correctly categorize new arrivals.

The survivors arriving at your checkpoint are also up to no good. With more than 40 new survivors, some of them are going to try to sneak past you and cover up their signs of infection. Work carefully with your hands (that double as an all new melee combat system!) to uncover their tricks and cause minor stress and sweating to reveal signs of infection.

With that, we have moved past AI content and revoiced the survivors authentically.

Beyond the Checkpoint

A key feature that we were always proud of is the ability to go beyond your checkpoint - on foot (or behind the wheel of your truck) and armed with guns.

In Contamination update, should you find yourself in a pinch and overwhelmed, you can resort to wading through the horde with your own bare hands punching and shoving the infected masses as you attempt to make your way deep into Chicago.

But before that, before you run out of ammo in your guns, you will be able to try out the new shooting QTE mechanic to take out a number of incoming infected with cold efficiency (as a police officer with training should be able to do).

Pickup Truck repair progression is also getting an update. We have focused on streamlining the process, making it easier to understand and process on player side - make it less confusing and give you more visual feedback on what is going on with your car project.

What we have fixed and what we will continue to work on

Dozens of bugs and polish later, we have made a long list of fixes that will have an impact on your gameplay:

  • We are continuing our work on performance issues - checkpoint turrets and zombie hordes will be less of a drain on it.

  • A number of pathing and geometry issues, along with the core shooting mechanics were fixed to improve the overall gameplay quality.

  • We have shipped a number of quality of life improvements and gameplay related fixes and we shall continue to monitor and keep on fixing bugs hindering you from progressing in the game

In honor of this work we’ve made, we want to share some screenshots of the process.

Can you believe Quarantine Zombies used to be simpler? Watch this space as we make our final preparation to release Quarantine Zombies: Contamination in late July 2026.
