Hello Spacers! Quantum Void will come out on friday, and I can't wait for new players to experience it. In the meantime, I'm writing this blog post to address some technical details regarding handhelds PCs.

changedTo be perfectly transparent, the only moment performance dips is during the jump phases, when loading assets. These phases have been designed for this exact purpose so the playability is not harmed, and it doesn't last more than a second.

As a handheld player myself, I know how frustrating performances can be.

Quantum Void has been made with modest gear in mind. During the entire development, I tested every single one of the builds on SteamDeck.

The game runs perfectly, displays the right icons, does not have some sketchy launcher nor DRM (outside of the Steam default) and supports multiple resolutions. It should look great on the OLED version!

Even played plugged on a 4K TV, the framerate is still solid. Also tested on Lenovo Legion Go and ROG Ally, with locked 60FPS as well.

To be perfectly transparent, the only moment performance dips is during the jump phases, when loading assets. These phases have been designed for this exact purpose so the playability is not harmed, and it doesn't last more than a second.

The game does not have the "SteamDeck Verified" label as of writing these lines, but it should not take too long, it's a matter of verification.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Cheers,

TacNours
