Time for a Tournament! We passed 10k players

Dear Seekers, I want this to be much more than an educational game... a platform to start what I like to call "quantum eSports": weekly tournaments, big competitions, events with sponsors and prizes.

changedOn the state of the gameWhat do our silent players think about the game? Please express your opinion. We are in summer sales and reviewing the game helps a lot with discovery. I love how this community is growing, the discussions we are having ( I think we are top 10 quantum discord servers today afaik!) and let's get more people in. I will ofc work on improving this forever, that's my promise!

Dear Seekers,

I want this to be much more than an educational game... a platform to start what I like to call "quantum eSports": weekly tournaments, big competitions, events with sponsors and prizes.

I think this is the best way to get people excited about coming up with cool quantum algorithms. QHW is here, yes it's not as good as it will be in the future, but what we are really slacking on is quantum algorithms. I believe such algorithms can only be invented from people with different backgrounds (than Quantum Computing) who are expert is a particular problem and are willing to put in the effort to find a quantum algo for it.

Hence, I want to officially announce that this weekend (3-4 July) I will create an in-game Session and announce the IDs here and on our Discord. The more people join the better, this will help me test if the system is working correctly.

On the state of the game

Our discord community is very vocal about what they'd like to see in the game, but what about those who quietly play this and never join discord? We have now over 10k players. One in 82 players left a review on Steam, which according to some sources say this is healthy for an educational game, although the average people talk about is 1 in 40 for a Steam game.

  1. What do our silent players think about the game?

  2. How do you feel about the learning curve?

Complexity really blows up(to infinity..) the moment you "break Clifford"(when you use CS and T, when a sigil holds two complex numbers of different sizes). This is natural since the game is a true linear algebra simulator. What I could do in tournaments is to impose some limits to this (by gate and depth availability)

  3. Would love to hear your ideas for a permanent ranked competitions game mode in Quantum Odyssey!
