Let’s jump right in 👇

What’s New This Week

✔ Cloud Saves & Serialization are now fully implemented

Your boxer’s progress, upgrades, stats, and settings now save reliably across sessions and devices. This was a big system to finalize, and I’m really happy with how stable and clean it’s working.

✔ New Fight Flow & Feedback Improvements

The fight system has been reworked to feel smoother and more readable:

  • Better rhythm

  • Extra feedback on hits

  • Cleaner animations

  • Reduced clutter

✔ New Auto-Battle System

You can now let your boxer handle fights automatically while you work or relax. This mode is optional, perfect for players who want a hands-off, cozy experience.

✔ UI Polish Across the Board

Menus, icons, transitions, energy bars, and multiple small components got a proper cleanup pass to make everything more consistent with the overall cozy theme.

✔ More Upgradable Items

New gym equipment has been added and made upgradeable with meaningful stat bonuses. This should make training progression feel more rewarding.

✔ Minor bugs cleaned up

Lots of little things: flickers, layout issues, timing, text snap… gone.

What I’m Working On Next

Progression & Gym Balance Pass

Numbers will get another round of tuning so training → resting → fighting feels smoother and more satisfying.

Localization

The game will support additional languages. Planned initial set:

  • Chinese

  • Japanese

  • Korean

  • Russian

  • Turkish

  • most likely German or Spanish next (depending on wishlist regions)

Cozy New Backgrounds & Gym Equipment

To improve variety and long-term feel, more scenery & decorative elements are coming soon.

After Release (Post-launch Plans)

Once the game launches, these features are next on the roadmap:

Hall of Fame & Boxer Retirement System

A long-term progression mechanic to honor your strongest boxers.

More training types

To keep the core loop fresh and growing.

Balance updates based on community feedback

Your input will shape how the game evolves, especially the idle pacing.

Thanks for reading!

Thank you so much for following the development of Punch, Rest, Repeat. Your support genuinely means a lot, especially as a tiny solo developer.

If you haven’t yet, adding the game to your wishlist helps massively.

More updates soon, including a gameplay trailer and some surprises as we get closer to launch!

Stay cozy & keep training. Smiling Stallion Studios
